I have heard several posts mentioning how many kids were onboard, especially during the peak seasons like Summer and Holiday.

I am wondering if some of you recent cruisers can tell me how many kids have been onboard during the Fall off season? How crowded were the Mickey Pool and the Kids Club?

Know there will be plenty of kids onboard. :D Just wondering if it is really less crowded this time of year!

On our 2 previous cruises 12/15/01 and 10/7/00, while considered non holiday off peak times, there seemed to be plenty of kids onboard...

On our Sept. 14th seven day western cruise, one of the CM in the children's farewell show said there were 800 kids on that cruise. I was really surprised. We had such a difficult experience with our public school system here over us going that I was surprised just how many kids are able to go.

DW just returned from the October 3rd 3-day Disney Wonder cruise. She was told that there were 500 children on board.

800 kids! That does sound like a lot for this season.

Wow, I know JUST what you mean about dealing with the school system... You know, the way I see it, my child is MY child, not theirs! But, that would be a whole new thread (or debate:D ).

According to the cruise director, there were over 700 kids on the Wonder for the 9/1 4 day.

There were a lot more children on our three-peat than there typically are in the fall season. I think that the kid population will be much higher this year up till Thanksgiving due to the $99 special. I think that enticed a lot of parents to pull their kids out of school for the long weekend. But they really aren't underfoot all that much, and if you want an escape, just head off to the adult areas!

We're leaving onthe Wonder Sun 10-13. :D

My grandson is going. His teacher has been so sweet.

We asked for his work for the week and will make sure that he does it. Being as we are getting the list before we go we'll try to have him do everything before we leave.

She wasn't upset at all - by the way it is a private school. Usually they have a tougher schedule.

He is sooooooo excited.

I expect a larger than average number of children on the November 7th 3-day due to the New Jersey schools having the week off. :)

Also some schools now offer a balanced calendar. This gives my sons school two weeks vacation in Sept/Oct. That is when we have cruised in the past.

Thanks everyone,

Looks like it is hard to tell how many kids will be onboard after all.
Just hoping that the kids club and the Mickey pool will not be super crowded!

PS: Our schools get a little closer to that year round 'balanced' schedule every year. This year they started in early August instead of late August or September!

We went on the 7 day cruise this past JUly with lots and lots of kids. We went to the Mickey pool early in the morning and had it all to ourself. We couldn't go on the slide, but that wasn't even an issue with us b/c my DD is only 3. When she was in the club, I did the "adult" things and I could hardly tell that there were kids on the boat.
