How many in group before you'd book OKW?

For me - maximum occupancy is not always a great guideline. I would only do four in a one bedroom if i was pushed for points, so i would feel similar with the six in a two bed scenario - unless it were four kids sharing the second bedroom. Definitely with six, i would go with okw for the extra space. the units are bigger, and those balconies are huge in comparison to the other resorts. Don't get me wrong - six in a two bed is definitely doable - i just hate having people sleeping in the lounge area - because if i get up before them, i would be waking them up.

Definitely a personal choice as we get a 2 bedroom for 3 or more. Sleeping on a sofa is not a vacation for any of us. :thumbsup2

I too prefer OKW but it doesn't bother me if anyone else does not. To try to answer the question a little better, I would consider three areas. Will you have a car, the makeup of the group and how much you will cook and eat in the unit. If you will not have a car, that is a detriment to an OKW stay, and to a degree, to SSR as well. If you'll do a lot of cooking and eating in the unit, OKW is better suited there, esp for a larger group. For me it wouldn't be unit size but rather sleeping arrangements and in part would depend on where you would stay otherwise. Since OKW has the 2 queens, only SSR and VWL have 2 queens routinely and even then only if you have a dedicated 2 BR. BCV does but only for a limited number of unit, only about a third of the dedicated 2 BR units. So if I had a car, planned on cooking/eating a lot in the unit and my group make up suggested that the 2 queens would be a big help, there you go....OKW. Ultimately you need to decide what's best for you. IF you haven't stayed there, you may want to give OKW a try.

I read so much about OKW's villas spaciousness, we've stayed there just in a studio, and so have nothing really to compare VWL's 2 bedroom to, but we have a "couple only" stay at OKW 1 bedroom in June.

You will get a good idea of what the 2 BR will be like as the 1BR will have the same size living areas and MB as the 2BR- then add on the studio and you've got it. We had 6 in a 2 BR at VWL and BCV 2 years ago and if I have my way won't do it again. The balconies were small - max 2 on each of the two at a time and the kitchen/living room seemed really crowded if we were all in there at once. Just a personal opinion of course but at least at OKW is someone is using the pull out sofa there is room to walk around and use the kitchen etc without trying to crawl over the top of it if that person is still sleeping. Have great trips and enjoy making memories with the family - there's nothing better.

We are staying in a 2-br for the first time (4 weeks from today!!! :cool1: ). There are 5 of us: Me, DH, DD-16, DS-14 and DD-10. The girls are too big now to share a bed, so this way, everyone has their own. I'm sure we will be spoiled by all the room and never be able to "go back"!! We chose OKW, not based on size of our party or points, but because we really like the laid-back atmosphere of the resort. We were looking for a more low-key vacation this time, with less time in the parks. OKW fits the bill perfectly!
