I heard an interesting thing in the radio today.

It was said that Americans are spending more time at work now than ever before..so that made me curious.
How many hours a week do you work? I added a poll :)

36.5 working (well :rolleyes1 ) and 39 total (including lunches!)

Dh on the other hand. He has a home office and blackberry, he is always working in some capacity. Some weeks he legitmately works 60-80 hours and other weeks he is not traveling and at the home office and actually works 25 hours.

37.5 M-F/ office closed on weekends. I can do overtime if I feel like it but it's been slow and I haven't had any reason to.

My husband works 62, I work 37.

I told my husband he's nuts, but he is a work-a-holic.

80 to 100 per week.

;)

Rachel
Umm, Rachel, aren't you violating work hours regulations then?

I'll give the party line: exactly 80 hours per week. Not counting required conferences. And not counting signout. And not counting follow-up. 80 hours. Yep.

Um, yeah, 80, that's right, never an hour over.

Not counting educational 'opportuntities', oh, and sign out, and home call, and follow-up clinic, and research, and, um, external moonlighting. And um, when I trained fellows worked q2, with no residents, and we stayed post call darnit, and on our off days we researched prostoglandin effects in fetal sheep.

(Ok, if I'm this punchy perhaps I need more sleep)

Just looked at your profile, btw, looks like we're not only neighbors, we're colleagues.

I work anywhere from 0 to 20, just depends on if I have work to do. DH on the other hand is the only programmer at his company (by his choice) and he puts in anywhere from 50-80 a week.

I work part time 16 hours on the weekend and stay at home with the children during the week

i work anywhere from 20 to 40 hours a week depending on how much I have to do. My dh works on average 60 hours a week....the man sleeps 4 hours a night. Gotta love him!!!!! :earseek:

I work 12 hours a week ~ M, T, W, F 9a-12noon. DH works the same hours as I do at the church, but works 10pm - 6:30am @ the base, so 52 -54 for him.

Sorry, Cats7494, I see I have killed another thread. I promise not to respond if you post another poll! ;)

40 at this job
about 16 in two days at my p/t job Friday & Saturday night.

DH works 40 at his job plus about 10-15 helping out on alarm installation jobs for one of his supervisors

I work 40 hours/week, but I'm technically at work 42.5 since a half hour of my break time is not paid.

I work 36 hours a week (M,T,Th & F 8 hours & 4 hours on Wed). DH works too much. His office is only open 37 hours/week, but he's there about 60.
