This is my 6th time going to WDW (4th for my parents) and I figure we need a whole day for Epcot, we are planning for a half day at MK, full day at MGM, and since we've never been to AK we don't know how to plan for that. We are going to AK when there's extra magic hours at night.

How many hours do you plan for each park, especially AK?

Thanks!

I usually go down to WDW for 5 days. I allow 1 day for MK 1 day for MGM 1/2 day at AK and 1 1/2 days at Epcot. There isn't enough to do at AK for a whole day. You will spend quite a bit of time there though if it is your 1st time being there.

This next trip we will be there for 10 day. We like to take our time seeing everything. typically if thyou get there irst thing in the morning and son't want to see EVERYTHING than 1 day at Epcot is fine We like to also gice Mk at least a day too.

This is how we're breaking it up next year:
  • Sunday: Epcot noon-closing (minus a couple of hours to check-in)
  • Monday: Magic Kingdom in the morning; Disney-MGM Studios in the afternoon until closing
  • Tuesday: Animal Kingdom most of the day; Dinner on the BoardWalk or Wishes at night
  • Wednesday: Epcot all day
  • Thursday: Magic Kingdom morning through mid-afternoon; Epcot until closing again
  • Friday: Disney-MGM Studios in the morning

I'm going crazy here trying to plan a first time trip to WDW...
We know exactly how long DL and DCA take us as we go all the time, but AK, MGM??? and the the rest. :head desk: DFi and I have spent 2 nights now trying to plan, and ending up with headaches and in near tears from the confusion. So basically, BUMP! Really curious to know what others think about this.

Thanks for everyone's opinions!

We are going to do MK the first day there from about 1 pm until closing with dinner at the GF and 'Wishes' show at night.

Tuesday is devoted to Epcot, Wed. is for AK and then dinner at Contemporary at night (going back to BW in between), and Thursday is MGM. Friday is our free day.

esmetutu,

I'm not sure what those two abbrev. you used are, but Epcot should defintely take at least a whole day if you've never been..some people like a day and a half. We've never been to AK so I figure we'll be there for most of the day (9-6) and MK doesn't take a whole day since there are no young kids. MGM we always do a whole day because there are alot of cool attractions to see there and there are a few places we enjoy to eat so there's lots to pick from. Then we stay for Fantasmic.

ON my upcoming Sept trip, I am going to spend five (5) whole days in each park (21days in total). I may end up going to MGM a little less.

AK is a part that I go to from the opening of the morning gate, right up until it closes and night. I also go the EMH, both morning and evening. There is a lot to see and do. (But I ride KS at least six times each day, in fact most rides at least 4 times each day). There is still a great deal of AK I have not seen to the fullest. (have to find all those Hidden Mickey's) This is my favourite park to Pin Trade at.

We are doing:

Sunday MK (evening emh also)
Monday MGM
Tuesday Epcot
Wednesday AK (evening emh also)
Thursday MK and MVMCP
Friday Open day to catch anything we miss or want to do again

I know alot of people say to avoid parks with EMH hours but we are going the last week of Nov and I do not think it will be a problem. We went last October and really enjoyed the evening EMHs.

mk 3 days
mgm 2 days
ak 2 days
epcot no future world i can't stand it
epcot world showcase 2 or 3 nights for dinner and walking around

Our first trip we spent one day each in MGM and AK, 1 1/2 days at MK and 2 1/2 days at Epcot. We also hit DQ one evening. Next time, it'll probably be half a day each for MGM and AK, but the same for the other two, maybe a little more at Epcot. And my DS wants a whole day at DQ :teeth: .
MGM is quick for us because we don't do RNR or TOT. And last time we went to AK, Everest didn't have it's official opening. The line was forever by the time we got there. Next time we'll probably hit it first, then Dinosaur and a couple other items, but it really didn't strike my fancy too much. Not my style, I guess. Epcot is like two parks in one, so we really spent a lot of time there, and rode TT and Soarin' about 6 times each  !

I can't imagine spending less than 7 days in WDW! haha.. we're there for 8 this time!

We will be spending 2 days at each park.. takin' our time. Re-riding rides.. ADR's, EMH, character breakfast.. ahhh... :wizard:

It'd be so nice getting to leisurely stroll each park and go back more than once!

We don't do Epcot. Our plan is:

Day 1: Discovery Cove; Sea World fireworks in the evening.
Day 2: Magic Kingdom in the morning, lunch at CP @ 2pm, leave after that.
Day 3: Animal Kingdom in the morning; possibly MGM in the afternoon.
Day 4: Magic Kingdom from about 3pm, for the fireworks.
Day 5: Sea World
Day 6: Typhoon Lagoon!
Day 7: MGM in the afternoon/evening, MM @ 5pm for the FDP.
Day 8: Anything we haven't finished off, or things we wish to revisit.

So basically, 2 days at MK; 1/2 a day at AK and 1 day at MGM; 1 day TL; 1 1/2 days Sea World and our Discovery Cove day
