How many Hoosiers out there?

After seeing the threads about Michigan and Ohio residents, I thought I'd start a thread for us Indiana residents! We live less than an hour north of Indy in a small farming community. We will be taking a family trip to WDW in October, with DH and I POSSIBLY taking an anniversary trip in December!

SO....where are you all from and when will you be heading down to the world??? ::MickeyMo

I'm gonna guess Kokomo area? ;)

We're just north of Indy and I grew up in Granger near South Bend.

We live just south of Indianapolis, in an unincorporated suburban area (due south of downtown). I was born and raised in the Chicago area and my husband born and raised in Florida. We were educated in Ohio, but, now Indiana is our adopted home.

Lived about 30 minutes west of Indy on heritage lake near bainbridge for 7 yrs and dh got transfered back to cincinnati where we are now ,but i still own my house on the lake and will be there next weekend!!

I was born, raised, and educated in Indiana - now living in Chicagoland. I was in Terre Haute until I graduated from high school, then Bloomington while in college (IU, obviously). So, Hoosier at heart.

I dunno of this counts. My DH is in the Army but calls Marion, IN his hometown. We've been married 10 yrs and have 2 kids. I feel like IN is home to me, too. I've been called an Honorary Hoosier. So do we count?

Just wanted to jump in and say hi  to my fellow Hoosiers! We are planning a trip with extended family at the end of October. This will also be my sons Wish trip. We are planning on attending MNSSHP too.

Marie, have you checked out the disBILITY board here at the Dis, David (Beastfan posted) returned from his Wish trip and posted a great trip report (well actually he's still working on it, I've read 2 days so far - its a great report on MAW, and GKTW Village!!)

Another Hoosier here too!

Born and raised in Indy/Speedway, college at DePauw in Greencastle. I now live with DH, DD and DS in Zionsville - northwest Indy suburb. Glad to "see" everyone here.

My family lives on the Southeast side of Indianapolis and we will be taking our first trip the last week of September. Can't wait! Maybe we'll see some of you on the road trip down there. Have fun!

WOW...lots of Hoosiers on board! To the person who guessed I was in the Kokomo area, you are so right! DH works there for Chrysler and we live 20 minutes south in Tipton. To the Westfield and Zionsville people...we are practically neighbors! ;) Westfield/Carmel was where I saw the SUV all decked out in WDW and Disney stuff. Can't believe they don't visit these boards...and how 'bout the Lafayette family that was on the Travel Channel show?? How cool was that?? I know I saw a post from youse guys somewhere on here! Okay, so I get excited  ..I just hink its so cool to know who the Disney fanatics are that live close by...feels like I'm not so alone :teeth:

Hi mickeymousemom, my DH used to work for Chrysler too, in New Castle. We discussed moving up to Kokomo and visited several times looking at houses. In the end we decided to stay with the company that bought Chrysler out. We're glad we did after seeing all the people that stayed with Chrysler and that are STILL not working! Took a major paycut, but a job is better than no job!

I was born and raised in a small town just north of Terre Haute. I was in high school when the whole Larry Bird phenom was going on...went to every home game and several of the tourneys too...that was such a fun time! :cool1:

I ended up to going to ISU until I married someone (my ex) in the military.I've lived out of Indiana for almost 20 years now. :earseek: Wow didn't realize it's been that long!

Most of my family is Indiana although we had to move my Mother in with us a couple years ago because she can't live alone anymore. Before she moved in I went up to Indiana about 4 -5 times a year and stayed for a coupe weeks at a time.

I miss the smell of a corn field on a hot summer evening! :teeth:

I posted on the Ohio board, but I guess I should claim my Indiana heritage also. I grew up and went to school in Batesville. It is a small town in SE Indiana. I still go back often to visit my Grandma. :flower:
