How many here are going to the PREVIEW of HP with onsite reservations or HP Packages

I don't post often, but I thought I would share our info with you. We have 3 families going to Universal. In Feb, I booked 2 familes in 2 rooms(room only, no pkg) at the Royal hotel on June 1. The 3rd family decided to book a pkg and stay at the same hotel. They were not offerred the HP pkg, I don't think it was around at the time. We were hoping HP would be open, and we were taking a chance, but figured we could cancel if it didn't work out. Then came news of June 18 opening date. Panic.

I called the hotel reservations, who assured me that since we had booked before March 24 and were staying onsite, that we would be allowed access to the HP park. We were told to bring a copy of our confirmation in with us, just to verify our book date. I called the 3rd family who booked a pkg and they called today, to confirm. They were told that ONLY the people who purchased the HP pkg would be allowed entrance to the park, Not people who purchased a regular pkg. They spoke with someone named Rose, who was very rude. They called me, ticked, b/c they were staying for 3 nights in concierge and were going to cancel. I called the number for them, explained my situation to someone named Berna (sp) who spoke with a supervisor, O'neal (sp). They both confirmed that as long as you are staying onsite, you WILL be able to get into the HP park, if you booked before March 24. Actually, I'm beginning to wonder if they're going to let anyone who stays at the hotels in the park, b/c really, it's going to be difficult to control.

Our concern is, where's the proof? If you call one time and get one answer, and call another time and get another answer, what's really going to happen? I suggested that the family send an email to universal to get IN WRITING the info they needed. Although I know it won't be a guarantee, at least it will be better than someone's word.

Anyone else out there getting mixed info? If you call and speak to Rose, call back till you get someone else. I did tell Berna that Rose was rude and that she gave false information as well as her supervisor, so maybe they'll do something about it. Now, the 3rd family is worried and considering taking their money to Disney.

I'm sure this has been hashed out all over the place, but I thought I would share. Now, I need to let it go. Whatever will happen, will happen. :)

Many, many, many people here, including myself have been assured via email by hotel management/supervisors that they WILL allow preview of HP (access) if booked before 3/25/10 onsite for 5/28-6/17. I would not worry, the emails from Universal have been posted on these threads and all have very similar wording. Not to worry! Consider yourselves lucky!

yeah, right there in the same boat as you...thank you posting this , it covers BOTH scenarios, yet still no reall concrete answers. All this mixed info is why I am struggling with what to do...we may just keep our RPR ressies as we got an awesome rate (125) which is less than what we would get at a WDW resort to our liking for our dates, have our (( US tix with us..if we can get in, SWEET, if not, guess we will enjoy the resort and drive to WDW or SW or KSC. ) We have days booked at the Dolphin for SW weekend so we are heading to WDW anyway, just would add days to our tix I guess. Should not complain, we get to go, but this will be our last hurrah for a while and have already had to reschedule 3 x's over 18 months due to illness /school stuff etc. I am very glad that the 99 tix do not expire until first use...if I had a date on those, I would be really bummed.

We booked a room June 7th on site and have been assured that we will get in because we booked in Jan. We were ready to cancel if we could not get in, but it worked out for us.

The fact that they are still giving out conflicting information is frustrating. I emailed hoping for a response in writing, but got a phone call back. I had called on two separate matters and received the same information (that onsite guests who booked prior to 3/25 would be allowed in), so I am really hoping that is the case. Not much else to do. Of course, we are trying to lower our expectations for FJ since any new ride, especially one that complicated, will have many technical issues to work out before being fully operational. We just hope we get to ride it once sometime during our 2 day visit.

Thanks for the helpful words! I appreciate it. I'm actually looking forward to seeing the HP park without all the crowds and I'm hoping that maybe Universal won't be such a madhouse memorial weekend if HP isn't open to the public. My oldest boy is a junior this year, so we figured we'd take him on one final Disney/Universal/Tampa trip before he graduated high school. Harry Potter was the main reason for it. I'm just going to think positive. We'll be at Universal with room only and non HP pkg on June 1 and we are all so so sooooo looking forward to it.

125 for the RPR? wow. I'd keep that too. We booked at regular price, waiting to see if we'd get any discounts in the meantime. On one hand, I feel fortunate that I did go ahead and book b/c we get uncrowded access (priceless), but it ain't cheap. :) Also, we still have to buy tickets for 7 members of our group. Hoping for GA/FL discounts or Military discounts. We'll start looking after Easter.

Booked for the family room only at RPR for May 31-June 3 w/last minute changes on March 23rd. Kind of dreaded dragging the family thru the HUGE crowds if they had opened May 28 so was a bit relieved. I'm pretty happy that it will be a soft opening(yes, I believe it will) and that we'll get a chance to see all the new sights and maybe ride 1 or 2 rides as well in the WWoHP. Whether or not this will happen our plans are set. I'm more of the shoot from the hip and just go with the flow.
