I don't post often, but I thought I would share our info with you. We have 3 families going to Universal. In Feb, I booked 2 familes in 2 rooms(room only, no pkg) at the Royal hotel on June 1. The 3rd family decided to book a pkg and stay at the same hotel. They were not offerred the HP pkg, I don't think it was around at the time. We were hoping HP would be open, and we were taking a chance, but figured we could cancel if it didn't work out. Then came news of June 18 opening date. Panic.
I called the hotel reservations, who assured me that since we had booked before March 24 and were staying onsite, that we would be allowed access to the HP park. We were told to bring a copy of our confirmation in with us, just to verify our book date. I called the 3rd family who booked a pkg and they called today, to confirm. They were told that ONLY the people who purchased the HP pkg would be allowed entrance to the park, Not people who purchased a regular pkg. They spoke with someone named Rose, who was very rude. They called me, ticked, b/c they were staying for 3 nights in concierge and were going to cancel. I called the number for them, explained my situation to someone named Berna (sp) who spoke with a supervisor, O'neal (sp). They both confirmed that as long as you are staying onsite, you WILL be able to get into the HP park, if you booked before March 24. Actually, I'm beginning to wonder if they're going to let anyone who stays at the hotels in the park, b/c really, it's going to be difficult to control.
Our concern is, where's the proof? If you call one time and get one answer, and call another time and get another answer, what's really going to happen? I suggested that the family send an email to universal to get IN WRITING the info they needed. Although I know it won't be a guarantee, at least it will be better than someone's word.
Anyone else out there getting mixed info? If you call and speak to Rose, call back till you get someone else. I did tell Berna that Rose was rude and that she gave false information as well as her supervisor, so maybe they'll do something about it. Now, the 3rd family is worried and considering taking their money to Disney.
I'm sure this has been hashed out all over the place, but I thought I would share. Now, I need to let it go. Whatever will happen, will happen.
