After reading about the issues with the thermostats, I was wondering how many have actually had issues. I would specifically like to hear about experiences at POP & the moderates. For health reasons, we need to be able to keep the room around 66-67 at night & around 70-72 during the day. When we stayed at CBR in 2014, we were able to cool the room this way & left a note for housekeeping to please not turn it off & they were great & we arrived to a cool room each day. Have they changed the air conditioning since then (Nov. 2014) & is there no way to keep the room that cool now for a 12 night stay? Thank you for your input!

The only issue we have had is with resorts that have the motion activated sensors. It had nothing to do with housekeeping turning anything off or changing the temp - it automatically shut off if no one was there. We had the same problem at night - since no one was moving around the air shut off. I can't remember what resort we were at where we had this issue but we called down and they came up and did something to the thermostat. It helped but it only seemed to last 24 hours. It wasn't a huge problem for us - mainly just warmer that we would like during the night.

Was at POP last fall. Refurb room. No issue at all... Set to 65 and it never turned off unless I did it myself. Housekeeping never touched it either.

We just got back from Pop, refurbished, preferred pool view. The thermostat was set at 60, but didn't feel like 60 and I could feel the humidity. I called about it. Never saw anyone come by, but the next day the room really did feel like 60 and the humidity was gone, so they must have come by when we were gone. I was a very happy, chilled camper! Just the way I like it!

We had a lot of issues with the motion sensor at All Star Music. I tried every “fix” I could find online, but it was like the thermostat “learned” because while some fixes would help, it would never work consistently for more than 24 hours.

We did have a couple of housekeepers cut the air up at Art of Animation during the day, but I’m sure if we had left a note, they wouldn’t have, but we didn’t. It didn’t take it long to cool down though once we got back and cranked it back down.

So, 2 POP Refurbed rooms- 1 with issues & 1 without. No consistency? Perhaps some rooms still have the older systems & some got newer? What could cause the inconsistency I wonder....

we tucked a receipt that would hang over the sensor in SSR and noticed that the air would make it move -> sensor activated -> air on -> make receipt move

In the Polynesian studios we had the locked down thermostat. A quick youtube search had us in business in no time. It reset after a few days (possibly after a visit on our trash & towel day who knows). But no issues with overriding once again. When we left for the day I moved the temp back up to 70 so as not to totally waste energy.

What should I be searching for on Youtube?
