How many SSR owners are going to be on the phone trying to book SSR for the end of May as soon as MS opens on that first day? Or is everyone going to be booking for later in the year before non-owners get SSR opened up to them?

We are not planning on staying at SSR until November 2004. Hopefully by then all the kinks will be worked out from the "newness" of the resort. I'll be on the phone the end of Dec. making my ressies for a GV over the Thanksgiving holidays. Good luck to those who are trying for May or June!!

I was wondering the same thing and was going to post re: If I should brave the crowds and call 9A 12/1 to book a dedicated 2BR for the middle of August or wait a day or two for the deluge and the kinks to be straightened out!:confused:
Decisions, Decisions!! :scratchin-> :headache:-> :crazy: !!

We'd like to go during the first two weeks in June...we'll just have to see what we can get. I'm not worried about resort kinks, etc. I'm willing to bet the resort will open by May 1st and the kinks will be worked out by June. We stayed at Coronado a couple weeks after it opened and had no problems at all!

It's so hard trying to make plans around other vacations that are "potentially" planned with other family. The summer sure seemed longer when I was a kid!

If we can't get the June dates, we'll try for Thanksgiving.

Hope lots of SSR owners wait til later in the year, and leave a few rooms for us non-SSR owners. DH and I will be looking for a studio in late May, one night, just to try it out before we move over to trusty OKW. Any other non-SSR owners holding their breath til Feb. 4?

I'll be trying for the 2nd week of December. That's when we usually go (the 1st or 2nd week). I am going to try for the 2nd week so I can buy an annual pass when I arrive, use it, then it'll still be usable the first week of December when I go the next year. I read on the boards that this is a good way to save money. So I'll give it a shot. Good luck at booking a ressie in May. I hope you have no problems doing so.

I *think* we will be staying @ SSR November 23-26, until I change my mind again! :rolleyes:

PLan on calling EARLY Dec.1 for ressies at SSR June 6-17 if I can get into a studio. I posted a poll a few pages back because I was worried about this also but didn't get much response.

We are planning our 1st trip home to SSR for the week of July 18-25. We usually don't go during the summer but as I reported in another thread, we have enrolled our DS in the AMC movie camp at MGM. I hope we can get ressies for July since we cannot be flexible with which week we vacation. We also plan to tack on 3 days at VB.

We are hoping to have our first trip home Dec. 25 - Jan. 1 2005! We'll call when it's 11 months out on Feb. 1st...The power of possitive thinking! My DH & I have that week off from work. We don't care if it's crowded, we'd love to see WDW at that time of the year!!

We are going to be(hopefully) staying at SSR October 22-25 and then moving over to BCV for 25-30. We own at bboth resorts and don't have enough points at BCV to book the whole thing so we decided to try outr new home first. That way we get a weekend at both and still get to enjoy the F&W festival at Epcot

I will be calling December 1st because that is my 11 month window date

My wife and I are discussing a 3-4 night stay in late-May, before the summer season kicks-in. By that time it will have been about 18 mos since our last WDW stay, and we'd like to get in a quickie trip before the summer season gets into full swing.

I'm just wondering what to expect in May. I know that they say all of the resort amenities will be available (pool, food court, etc.), but I'm most worried about having 3 nearby buildings still under construction. Hopefully most of the external fabrication will be complete, and they'll be exclusively working inside the new structures. I'd hate to have a balcony view of a temporary construction barrier, heavy equipment and scaffolding. And I hope we aren't awakened to the sound of pounding hammers every morning.

We had discussed just trying for another DVC resort, but that seems blasphemous. I couldn't live with myself if my first DVC stay was at a non-Home resort. :)

we are hoping to book our first visit "home" Nov14-19. I am hoping that we will be able to get it. How flexible do members have to be?

I have found that if you call at 11 months you will get the reservation you want with very few exceptions (like standard room at the BWV on New Year's eve you may not get even at 11 months). You will get what you want for next November as long as you call at 11 months. The shorter the time before you go and when you make the reservation, the more flexible you have to be.
