How many FPs can you have??

I have always thought you could only hold one FP at a time. If your return time isn't until much later you couldn't get another one until after the first one was over.

But now it seems that people are reporting that they have a few FPs. Or to get one for soarin' and then go get one for Test Track.

Can you really do this?

I'm sure this is an easy question for you veterans!!! THanks :flower:

We did this on our June trip. I'm not sure how many you can have at a time, but definitely check each FP to see what your next FP time is. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how many earlier you can get a new one, especially on those rides where the FPs go quick (ie. Soarin). The most we had at any given time was 3.

On our trip, we were able to hold 3 fast passes at once. First, we got one for Peter Pan because the line didn't go below 60 minutes our entire trip. It was for 3 hours later so we were also able to get a fastpass for Buzz which we love and then Space Mountain.

Fast passes NEVER expire! You have to wait until the return time to use it- but...if you are eating, napping, somewhere else when the fast pass supposedly expires- don't worry about it! The CMs do not care if it is after the time on the ticket, only if it's before. Therefore... you can hold a few passes at once, if you collect them in the AM and use them in the PM!

Is it true you can get a FP for Lights Motors Action at MGM and that doesn't prevent you from immediately getting one for another attraction? Thought I read that somewhere.

The system tracks when you get fastpasses but not when you use them. So if you were eligible to get another fastpass but have not yet used the one you have, you will hold more than one.

The printed time you can get another fast pass is never more than 2 hours (and 5 minutes) from the time you got one.

(I think by using a secret system I refer to as "hidden earlier next fetch time") you can get a Lights, Motors fast pass about 10 minutes before or after you got another fast pass. In the past I have observed (only way is trial and error) a "hidden earlier next fetch time" for other individual fast pass rides that are less busy. Only if you have no previously obtained fast passes with a later printed next fetch time will you see the 10 (give or take) minute next fetch time actually printed on your Lights, Motors fast pass.

You may be turned away if your fast pass has long expired. While at least one Disboards member has reproduced the text of a supposedly official letter from Disney stating that fast passes can be used after the expiration time, not all cast members are indoctrinated on this point. If a ride has suffered a breakdown during your fast pass usage time, you may come back later to use your fast pass.

This is confusing :confused3

I am really excited that you have the possibility of holding more than one FP, as last time we had to wait and hold one-at-a-time.

However, now I understand that you are given a FP return time AND a time when you can get another FP? Do the FP machines tell you when you can get the next FP or just when your return time is?

When we went last Aug 28th-Sept.3 most of the FP machines were covered up and not needed because the crowds were so low. It only took me 3 days to figure this out after running over the Space Mtn to get a FP and they weren't available. I am planning on bigger crowds this Aug. due to free dining and am trying to figure out my touring plan with FPs.

I would love to be able to get a FP for soarin, standby for soarin, get FP for TT and standby TT....then we can do them AGAIN!!!! :cool1:

When you go to the FP machine, it'll tell you what return time the machines are distributing. You make the decision whether you want an FP or not.

This is what a fastpass looks like:

Note that it states what time you can get another FP. If your FP return time is after the time you can get another FP, you can be holding 2 or more FPs.

Here's an example of how we could have three FastPasses at the same time. At Epcot over Fourth of July weekend (and it's all ethical).

Went to Soarin' at noon and got FastPasses for 4:30-5:30. Went to lunch and then went to Mission:Space after 2:00 (two hours after getting the Soarin' FastPass) and got passes for 3:30-4:30. On the way to riding Mission:Space, stopped by Test Track at 4:00 and got FastPasses for later that evening. We could do that since the window for Mission:Space had opened up.

Bottom line is basically two hours (and five minutes) from your first FastPass OR whenever your window opens up. Whichever one comes first. That's how you can have multiple FastPasses.

I GOT IT!!!!! :teeth:

Thanks so much for the photo and the explaination!! It is all clear to me now. I am so glad they print out the time you can get your next FP. Perfectly clear.

These boards are the bomb!!! :thewave:
