How many DVC'ers don't have kids?

Bought DVC when my three children were in various stages of college. I go to WDW three times a year with different people. This year in five weeks is a trip to OKW with nine of us, all immediate and extended family. In October my two DD's and I are attending Epcot Food and Wine and MNSSHP. In December my DH and I are staying a week and attending MVMCP, and next year my DS and friends are going down for Star Wars weekend. I am also going down solo in April 2014 to attend a wound conference. I also love to cruise and am waiting to hear if there will be another member cruise in the fall of 2014 which DH and I will sail on. Someday I may have grandchildren and will plan on bringing them. Once my children finish grad school a trip to DL and Aulani are in our futures.

No kids here (yet), have been a DVC member since 2010 (first DVC stay was 2008.) Since 2008, we have stayed at DVC for 8 separate vacations. We're having a blast doing adult stuff until we can have kids, because then we'll be waiting in line to meet Belle for hours instead of hanging out at the Carlsberg stand in Norway.

I'll be honest though, Five years ago my sister my mother and I went to Food and Wine and we had a great time. We went a couple years later and then again and it has gotten progressively more crowded. I had to skip last year but I'm going this year and I'm afraid that the crowds are going to be overwhelming. So obviously some adults have gotten the memo that there are plenty of things to do at Disney World year-round for people or 21 and up without kids.

But yeah I do get a lot of pushback from adults my age with or without kids who can't understand why I go there and why I go so often. I try to explain it, but hey in the end it's their loss.

DH and I are child-free and at 45 will likely stay that way. I bought DVC with my sister before I met DH. My sister is also child-free. DH and I go to WDW at least once a year (most years twice) and there is also usually a "sisters trip" once a year.

We bought into DVC in 2008 a year before we got married and because we had the cash. We actually were able to use DVC with a year of extra points when we bought to use for our honeymoon on an ABD Italy trip. Just had our first baby this year but had plenty of great trips until now and look forward to going with our new child.

Married in '98, joined in '02, had DD in '06. Love that we had it before her. All paid off before baby arrived!

We followed the same path as you... SO much easier! Now we have no dilemma of spend the money here or on something for kid(s) there.

I am 26 and just bought DVC this year - I definitely do not want children and neither does DBF.

Our kids were grown before we bought DVC. We've had one holiday trip with them that wasc such fun, and plan on a F&W trip next year, now that they (and their girlfriends are over 21). I'm so excited about it!! BUT, its mainly for me & DH use...though we may give a week to DS for honeymoon in two years. I love spreading the magic!!

We have no kids and no plans to have them. We have 2 small contracts one at AKV and one at HH just added on 50 points last year!

Another DVC couple with no children here! We've never really gotten comments on our Disney trips. Or maybe if we have, we just don't notice. We just think "oh, those poor people don't know what they are missing" lol! There have been situations when friends or family go on their first trip and come back saying "Now we understand!" - those are the best!

No children here and most likely won't ever have any. We have no trouble using our 800 points every year. Next year might be cruises only unless I want to borrow.

I'm a 50+ single with no kids. Knew early on I didn't want any of my own. Bought DVC about 8 years ago. Love going solo or taking nieces and nephews, most of whom love Disney as much as I do.

No kids with no plan to. My wife says I am the kid, anyways. ;)

We were engaged & married at Disney, so it is certainly a special place for us. I am not sure we would go as often as we do, however, without being DVC members.

DW and I took the tour in '01 and would have bought in then at VWL had we been able to afford it. Decided to join in late '04 while planning a trip for '05. Enjoyed three trips to ourselves before dragging along baby DD in '09 (easy!) and toddler DD and baby DS in '11 (not as easy but still fun...)

You also get the questions when you take kids "too early.". "But they won't remember going... " etc. The honest answer -- we're going for ourselves and to get pictures of kids with everything -- is usually enough to at least stop the questions.

DD is now almost 5, so this is nearly a "normal" trip, but we're planning on using our points for as long as we can, with or without kids -- 2054 is a long way away!

I posted this in the empty nester thread, but my parents bought "without" children so to speak. My sister was grown with kids in Alaska and I was graduating from college. I decided to take the tour on the Boardwalk, we stumbled across it after eating at ESPN. My parents and girlfriend (now wife) tagged along.

I would have loved to have purchased, but a college senior - I think we know that wasn't happening :lmao:.

But, my parents (surprising) did buy in. Not sure why. We weren't frequent Disney goers. That was my 3rd trip (so I guess more than most), I had gone in 1983, 1993 and this trip 1998. I think I was fortunate that my aunt and grandma lived in Florida at the time and my mom felt the need to visit frequently. But, given the circumstances, needed something else to do while there.

We finally added our own contract in 2010, so only 12 years later. With our first add-on in 2011. By then we had our daughter (2006), but the decision had been made before I was married and kids were even a thought. And, we'll enjoy taking her and friends for years to come and likely (when she's older) a few "us" trips without her too.

We bought in 2001, no kids...just "rent" the nieces and nephews when we want 'em:)

Oh my gosh, is Disney supposed to be for kids????

DH and I were married in 2003, bought DVC in 2004, figuring we should buy before we have kids. Well due to a slew of health problems and other life issues, we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary at WDW this year still without kids. Here's hoping by 2015 we can make our first trip with a kid of our own. But we certainly have enjoyed every kid-free trip we've had and the ones where we brought other people's kids.

We have no children and have made permanent decisions to ensure we don't have any. We love our Dvc and the freedom we have to travel when and where we want with it. We knew when we first met neither of us really wanted kids. Everyone makes their choices and if we had kids we wouldn't be able to travel the way we do.

My wife and I came to the same conclusion for the same reasons.

We are 44 and 46. We have have no kids and have owned DVC since 2001 (VWL). We visit several times a year and still feel that DVC was one of our best decisions.
(The no kid choice was another great decision!)

Don't have kids and not married either! 36 years old female, bought my first DVC 10 yrs ago. I have 500 points, will add another 200-250 when Poly DVC opens, and have no problems what so ever using all my points. LOL
