How many DVC owners are military?

We are active duty Army and are headed to Europe for 3+ years. We love the idea of DVC, but can't justify it right now with our move. It's definitely something we are continuing to research though and who knows, when we get back we may be owners.

Problem is that planning a trip 9-12 months out while being in the military is NOT easy. You just can't do it. This poses a problem. So, I'd love it if any military DVC'ers can tell me how you do it.

My DH is in the Army stationed at West Point New York. We are extremely lucky because he has a permanent assignment to the Academy. He isn't deployed overseas. His MOS is to serve to Corps of Cadets. We only have to plan our vacations around his leave-Dec and July. We already have our trip planned and booked for this December 28 and I will be going to WDW with my DD in July. We go sooooo often that it made sense for us to join DVC rather than stay at SOG. BTW, the DVC ownership was my 25th Anniversary gift since I am the Disney nut!

We are!!!! DH is a recruiter in the Army. He converted two years ago, so no deployments for us.
We just joined DVC last year after our first visit to WDW. We fell in love and knew that this would be a place we could be happy bringing our two children to. We also are able to bring family along! This past August we brought six other family members with us to share our first visit home to BCV.
Making plans in advance is not a problem because of the nature of DH's MOS. Plus we know we always tend to vacation the same time of year anyway.
We have talked about requesting assignment to Europe when our kids are older, and if that time comes I am happy knowing that DVC is flexible enough to allow us to exchange to wonderful places all over Europe, including Disneyland Paris. We could also rent our points if need be.
No regrets here, and we are in fact talking about adding on!!!
