I need like 90 $50 disney giftcards for our vacation. I've got my target red card debit card and a reward discount as well. You think I can just run in to target and pick all of these cards up?

I have a disney vacation account also, which makes it easy for me to just add these to my account. So when I call to pay off my balance, I just give them one number, instead of reading 90 codes to the phone rep.

I just grabbed five yesterday, and I think I purchased 15 or so for our trip in February.

I would guess it would just matter on the number they have in stock. I don't think I've seen close to 90 cards at my local Target.

Both my daughter and I have purchased around 50 cards at once. They had plenty of cards on hand. The only issue was that the transaction was declined on my target debit card due to the large amount. They allowed me to use my bank debit card and still gave me the 5% discount.:thumbsup2

I've bought 11 at once, and I think we have done as many as 15. I'm pretty sure our spending limit is at $1000 currently, but it may be more now as we have built up a history of purchases. Without a history, they limit you to $500 or so to start (depending on your bank) and who knows what algorithm they use to decide how they increase it... :rotfl2: It will decline if there is too much, but what works for someone else will not likely work for you since its based on individual factors.

I purchased 30 $50 GCs at one location (for my brother) and then went to another location on the same day and purchased 36 $50 GCs for myself. The total cost was just north of $2975 and I was able to put the full amount on my REDCard without a problem. The cashier at the 2nd store asked me for my photo ID, but I have no problem with that.

LOL :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: All that trouble for 5% !

I would rather use my Disney Credit card and get 2%, 6 months interest free, and Visa card insurance, in ONE transaction ! JMO:cool1:

Heck I would do it to save about $225 like the opening poster is too. That's a round trip flight for me!

Ummm...no, it's 9.75% when you stack the REDCard with the Pharmacy Rewards coupon. THAT'S why it's worth the trouble and why I look at your crummy 2% Disney Visa rewards and I go like this :lmao:

Since I never carry a balance on my credit cards, the 0% for 6 months on packages means nothing to me. Not to mention that I rarely book packages.

Everyone has what works for them. These GCs will pay my DVC dues.

I've not purchased more than 10 at a time. My Target does keep a ton on hand though. Every check out line has them and then there are also a bunch over in electronics on the gift card display.

Actually it's almost 10% since she's also using her pharmacy rewards. Much better than the 2% from the Disney card ;)

try getting $100 cards.

Yeah ... sounds good but most Targets only stock $50 cards.

I've never felt so bold as to grab more than 10 at one time, but I've generally had to clear out two racks to manage even that many. We usually get about $750 or so total before a trip down to WDW ... and that's just too much of a savings to pass up.

I need about 120 (going to pay entire cost of package and use them for OOP food and alcohol). I'm dreading trying to do the transaction (or hunting for that many cards in one place). Good thing there are 5 targets close by.

Based on how the stores local to me are stocked, you might have to visit all five.

The OP is talking about a 9.75% discount.
I'd much rather get a 9.75% discount than a 2% discount any day.

Since you have such a large amount, I suggest you go to Winn Dixie or the Disney Store and get one of the giftcards where you can put x amount of money into, rather as buy so many $50 cards.

The other day, I went to Winn Dixie and got a card, and filled it up with $400 to pay for my disney hotel

But what kind of discount would you get with that? Maybe 5% cash back on your CC? I can buy the same amount at Target and get almost double the amount off the original purchase. That's cash that never leaves my pocket. And all I have to do is deal with 8 $50 GCs instead of 1 $400 GC.

We bought $1900 worth saving almost $200 for our MFs in January then in February bought $1400 worth at a Target in Orlando area to pay for 3 DVC promo PAPs.
Fortunately we had pharmacy rewards coupons both times, so saved over $300.
We have the Target credit card, not the debit card.
