M planning a first trip to universal studios- it's gonna be me , dd 18 and ds 14 - how many days should we stay to see both parks?

I like 3 days. One for each park and one for repeats.

We like the 4 day plan. First day resort and kick back and 1 day for each park and one repeat. Works for us.

We love 4 days ( 2 for each park) ,But 3 days is doable ( 1 for each park and 1 for favorites). When are you are going? if after June, the Harry potter expansion will be open. You will need a PARK TO PARK ticket if you plan on riding the Hogwarts Express attraction

It depends on your touring style. If you only want to hit the highlights ( a few rides/shows) at each park, and have an express pass, you can do it in a day. If you want to do it all at each park and have an ep, you can do one day in each park- so a total of two days. If you want to do it all, and are a repeat rider family, three to four days with ep should do it.

We are a repeat rider type of family, and like to tour at our leisure, not commando a park. Usually 3-4 days is good for us, and we have even stayed for a week before, only leaving one day for an outing to SeaWorld. And we were not bored.

So one day just really is not enough to do a park justice unless it is a really slow day.

Let's put it this way. Many people think WDW is just for kids, we know better. In the same way, UO is more than just a thrill park, it is a beautifully themed destination in and of itself with many details and shops and restaurants to enjoy.

Just depends on what you want to get out of your UO experience.

My exact answer!

If you stay onsite you can do both parks in 1 day, but you will miss all of the detail that they put into the park.

1 day at each park is better, but still not enough time to relax, take it all in and enjoy the shows.

3-4 days lets you do it all.

Personally, we buy premier passes which gives single ride Express Pass after 4PM and we do Disney at rope drop, take a break in the early afternoon and head to Universal at 4PM each day.

Keep in mind that Diagon Alley will be open soon and that is going to substantially increase traffic at both parks. Take a look at crowd photos from the first month after WWoHP first opened. You may need onsite reservations to get in an hour early and the unlimited Express Pass to enjoy it all...
