Headed to California in may. Disney is not the reason for our trip, but we want to visit. We are staying at the hojo. Boys are 2 and 3.5. We have up to two days to devote to dl. Do we do two at dl? Do we get a park hopper? Are they old enough for dca? Or do we do one day at Disney and take a little day trip on the second day?

On day 3 we are doing a character breakfast and then heading down to San diego.

I think it is really up to you. We took our twins to CA when they were two. They liked Ariel's merry go round and the Ariel ride. They liked Toy Story Mania. (Something about pulling the cord made it fun for them). They liked the little parades and all the cute little rides at Its a bugs life. There are character meet and greets there too. It is so easy to walk between the parks there I think you really can't go wrong with a park hopper. Even if you only go to CA for the Bugs life park and Turtle talk with crush (which was my DD's favorite thing in the whole park). Also WOC is a really great night time show for little ones. It is colorful and wowing to watch. JMO. But I think you can't go wrong either way. Two days isn't that long and you can easily kill that time in MK if you want to and avoid CA completely. I personally love CA so I can't imagine not spending some time there but MK is great too! Have a great trip!!

Thanks! Our initial plan was a 2 day park hopper, but just wanted to make sure that it made sense. Then on day 3 we will do a character breakfast before heading out of town.

Hmm, now that I'm thinking about it, maybe we will do the breakfast on day 2 since day 3 is a Saturday and I don't need to wait for traffic to die down. We can just get up on Saturday, check out, and go.

You might throw a coin at park hopping.

On Thursday I would do you character meal, then enjoy DCA or both parks 10-8.

On Friday go to DL which is probably going to have 9-11 hours. Hop or don't but take a midday break. See if you can stay up at least for the fireworks.

You may want to save Saturday for the character breakfast. Have both of your kids visited characters? If they don't like it you probably don't want a meal with them. Waiting until Saturday will give you a chance to let them visit a couple characters in the parks, before you are stuck at a table with the characters walking up to them.
