This is our first trip. We have a 6 and 7 year old. We are staying on the FTP for 7 nights. How many days would you spend at the MK? I know this will be our favorite park. I was allowing 1 day each for the other parks. But didn't know if I should leave 2 or 3 days for the MK? We are not planning on doing any parks the day we arrrive. Just having a nice dinner at WL and getting settled. I also thought the day we leave we have till about 2:30 to go to a park.

Any thoughts?

I would suggest 2 days at MK, 2 days at Epcot, and 1 day each at 1 for AK. Another day for a water park.

I would go for 2 days at MK, at least.
What you could do is plan 1 day at each park & then take a vote as a family & see what park everyone wants to revisit.

We personally are not a water park family so we did not do a water park & just spend extra days at the parks.

We spend one day each at MGM and AK, skip Epcot (DD4 & DS3), then spend the rest of the time at MK. My kids want to go to MK. They can spend all day in Fantasyland, AdventureLand and Toontown. I think on our last trip we went on "It's a Small World" about seven times!!!

I'd schedule at least 2 days for MK, while 1 day for the others will probably be OK (Epcot could really use 2 days). Why not save one day at the end for visiting favorites? If they want to spend most of thier time at MK, then they can. MK and MGM were my childrens favorite parks (ages 9, 7, 6, and 2 at the time).

Me, my husband and our two kids (9 and 5 ) didn't like Epcot at all so our 2nd trip next year we are skipping it all together. 1 day at AK, 1 at MGM, and 2 at MK. Also doing 1 water park day. They all love the water--I hate it so i mostly watch. We all love US/IOA so will be going there for 3 days also.

Oh...my...god - I can't imagine not liking Epcot. My DD was 3 1/2 when we went in October and she had a great time, although I must admit, one of her favorite things was the glowing sidewalks at night ;) ! Anyway, we spent the first 2 days at MK, figuring it would be DD's favorite (and it was, of course). One day was enough for MGM and more than enough for AK (this year we'll only give it a 1/2 day). We spent 2 days at Epcot (love the WS) and 1 day at Seaworld (actually a 1/2 day, which was plenty). On the last day we went back to MK until about 4:30, when it was time to get back to the hotel and leave for the airport :( . All in all, it worked perfectly for us and we're doing just about the same this year (we're not really into waterparks - if we were we'd probably need another day!).

Enjoy your vacation! :D

Disney Dad Says................................ Lory, not liking EPCOT by all of you needs an explanation. If you are world travelers, and see these are stereotypes of the countries, then fine. But the kids don't know that. That would still leave future world.. Test Track, Journey, Hista, Spaceship Earth, and more.
This remains DD favorite park at age 7,9,11 and 12, though now it's for the shopping!
And the food is to die for, how many restaurants did you try?
Benihana is great, but Teppanyaki is great, great, great!
Ever had real fish and chips? Ramsdens has real fish and chips.
You will be dissapointed by the fodder we get that are called fish and chips.
JMHO, But give it another go, best food, good attractions, and a monorail straight to MK if I am wrong!

We are doing 2 days at MK, 1 at TL, 1 at AK and 1 at MGM. We have a DS10, DS 5, DD 5 and DD 2 1/2. We are also going to SW for 1 day and USO/IOA for 3 days. Can you say EXHAUSTING??!!
My kids truly loved TL! We stayed there for seven hours 2 years ago (you can do the math for the ages) and we only left because it started storming. Have fun whatever you decide!

We are planning on at least 2 days at MK, one day at AK, MGM & Epcot and fitting in DTD for the shopping at some point (which is high on my personal list). Then we will fit in MK again at some point if we still have time after another park or when we arrive on the plane, just to walk around and not worry too much about doing any shows etc.

Hey stranger......Do I know you?;)

I agree, at least 2 days at MK, possibly 2 days at Epcot and 1 day each for MGM and AK. A waterpark might be nice in the middle of the week to break up the parks a bit. DTD you can do one evening when there isn't any fireworks at any of the parks. DTD is open very late too.

Keep up the great work planning your trip. Maybe someday you will become a DVC member :teeth: and our families could travel together

Talk later......Guess who?!

One day at mk one day at epcot go to Animail kingdom in the morning do the things their and than at around noon go over to the Studios for the attractions and shows their and for Fantasmic!!!!!!!!

This only works if you go comando meaning go from dawn until the parks close.
