Hi All,

How many days do you think we need at DLP ? We live in San Francisco, California and have been to DL several times with the kids ( 3.5 and 6.5 years old) And went to WDW When they were 22 months and almost 5 years old.

The kids should be old/ tall enough to do most attractions, so we don't need to spend as much as time doing the baby swap.

Folks on the boards (I think most were just into the big attactions, not the animals and shows) said we would only need a half day at the animal kingdom, which for us was way off. We were there off season, and LOVED it. We scheduled 1.5 days, and missed a lot. We will probably only go once. So just want to know what you all think.

Thanks:)

hello

There are only 2 parks at DLP but the main park (equivalent to MK) is bigger. I would say you need at least 3 days to do it properly and even then there will be things you have missed

Hi shamrockshake and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

A 3night/4 day stay is normally considered idea :)
Mind you if this is part of a wider European trip this may be too many days out of the rest of the trip :)

I'd advise the maximum amount of days that you can afford, however you'd need (depending on time of year) roughly three days for the MK and one day for the studio. Usually we go for 4 nights/5days and even then there are things that we miss out on!

We normally go for the 4 night / 5 day option (now we have AP so can go whenever  ) We found the 5 days gave us time to see everything & go on all the rides, but also allowed us time to have some later starts in the morning and go to the shows as well.

Have a really lovely time

Hi there :goodvibes
I think 4 days/3 nights it the optimum if you just want to have a look around and do all the attractions you fancy.
If you would like to see shows as well, then 5 days/4 night would be better :goodvibes :goodvibes

Hmmmm, alot depends on time of year. 4-5 days is great in the off season, but in August would still not be quite enough time to do everything if you want to enjoy any table service meals (but you would get the bulk done). I would also argue with the age of your kids, if you like shows, the Studios now takes 2 days during peak seasons.

One big difference between DL/WDW and DLP is service in counter service restaurants/table service are much slower.

As a former San Franciscan living in Europe, I can say I love DLP!!!
