How many days needed at Magic Kingdom?

Hi ... we are planning a trip to WDW in Feb, 2004. We will be there for 3 days and we are trying to figure out how many days at the parks.

It is the first trip for my kids, son, 6, and daughter, 4, and we were planning on visiting Magic Kindgom and MGM. If we can do Magic Kingdom and MGM in one day each we may try to fit in Sea World or Animal Kindgom, but we were not sure if we need two days to see everything at the Magic Kingdom.

Any advice and guidance is appreciated. Thanks.

BTW .. what's up with the search function ... it is intermittently working?

"Seeing everything" is impossible, even if you spend a week, but you can certainly hit the attractions in 1 day if you get there early and plan well. Not the most fun way to do MK, though. It's much more satisfying if you take your time.

The search function does seem to be up to its old tricks.

I'd advise against attempting a one-day comprehensive tour of the Magic Kingdom with small children. It wouldn't be much fun for anyone. A more manageable plan would be 1.5 days in the park, ideally with one of those days being Early Entry. You could see a few of the highlights of the Animal Kingdom in that other half-day, too, leaving your third day open.

Depending on the park hours in early February, and your choice of hotels, you may want to consider a mid-afternoon nap for the children. That would mean spending perhaps two full days at the Magic Kingdom, but it may be more enjoyable than trying to cram things into one. Let us know more details and we'll see what we else can suggest.

We just went w/our 3 1/2 yr old and we spent about 11-12 hrs in Magic Kingdom over 2 days and still didnt see some things. We didnt have any waits for anything, but with seeing most shows and going on almost all the rides, it just takes this much time. We were amazed. It was fun, but takes longer than you think. I wouldnt like to feel rushed to run thru the park--too stressful!
