We are a couple in our mid 20s an first timers. We will be doing a 10 day trip including travel days. I was thinking to hit MK the evening of arrival, departure day and another 3 full days, epcot 2 days, hs 1 day, ak 1 day and a resort day where we will go to any park we feel like that day. Thoughts?

With 10 days of park passes I would do:

3 or 4 in MK
3 in EP
2 or 3 in HS
1 in AK

We are a couple in our 40's going to WDW for the first time. Kids are grown so just us. We have 10 day park hoppers and staying 13 nights. This is what we are doing:

Arrival late evening
Epcot
MK
DAK
DHS
Day off parks
DAK morning, Epcot evening
MK
Epcot
DHS
Day off parks
"Wing it day" (but I suspect it will be Epcot)
MK
Departure day

So, 3 MK days, probably 3 1/2 Epcot days, 2 DHS days, 1 1/2 DAK days

I have no idea if this is a good plan since we've never been, but that's what we are doing. Most ADRs are for lunch so we have flexibility to hop around after.

I recommend the park hopper ticket - this gives you the flexibility of going to more than one park per day and since its your first visit to WDW you may find it easier to have this flexibility, especially if you are able to take advantage of extended park hours.
I have always had park hoppers and typically we visit one park in the morning; return to our resort sometime in the afternoon; have a swim or hang out for an hour or two; then head back out later in the day to another park.

2 full MK days, 1 AK day, 1 HS day, and 2 full Epcot + 2 evenings at W.S

I feel like this is a good fit for us.

I'm in the same boat!
I have a 8 day park hopper with water park options. We are early 20's couple and it's my boyfriend'a first time. Going during F&W Here is my plan.

Arrival Day: MK then maybe park hop to Epcot (MK closes at 7) if not too tired from travel
Day 2: MK
Day 3: AK then maybe park hop to Epcot (AK closes at 5)
Day 4: DHS
Day 5: Blizzard Beach
Day 6: Typhoon Lagoon
Day 7: MK
Day 8: Epcot
Day 9: DHS
Day 10: AK then MNSSHP

I think this should be enough time to do everything! i think you're plan is definitely enough time to get everything in.

I love seeing so many couples going! DBF & I are 26 and 24 and this is our 3rd trip together. We are visiting 9/30-10/10 and here are our plans:

9/30 Arrive at Cabana Bay Resort at Universal
10/1 IOA/Universal
10/2 MK/Epcot
10/3 AK/Epcot
10/4 MGM/Epcot
10/5 MK/MGM
10/6 AK/MK
10/7 Epcot
10/8 MGM/AK
10/9 Epcot/MK *Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!
10/10 Departure Day :(

This is exactly what we do! We usually take a small nap :)

It sounds like you'll have more than enough time to do whatever you want, so do that! I have a 5-day trip coming up and this is my current plan, which is subject to change:

Day 1- MK (PM)
Day 2- MK (AM) EP (PM)
Day 3- AK (AM) MK (PM)
Day 4- HS (AM) EP (PM)
Day 5- AK/resort hopping (AM) EP (PM)

I'm only doing Epcot three nights because there are some Eat to the Beat concerts that I want to see during the Food and Wine Festival. Also, I don't get why a lot of people are suggesting only one day at AK- I love that park! HS is my least favorite, but I would (maybe) give it more time if I had more trip days.

With 10 days, "we" would probably spend:

2 at MK
2.5 at EP
1.5 at AK
1 at DHS
1.5 at BB
1.5 at TL
