How many days in each park?

We have 8 days to spend in the parks (the last one only until ~5 or 6pm), and I'm trying to decide how much time to spend where. We have an 8 year old, a 3 year old, and 2 adults. The kids both say they mostly want to ride rides, though last year they really enjoyed the street performances and shows, too.

Right now I'm thinking we can do MGM in one long day (ending with dinner package + Fantasmic), AK in one day (maybe?), 3 days in Epcot, and 3 in MK. Does that sound reasonable, or should I schedule less time in Epcot and more in either MK or AK? We didn't get to see the World Showcase *at all* last time, and I'd really hate to miss it again (haven't seen it since I was a kid, in the early 80's), but I'm not sure how much the kids are likely to enjoy that part.

Any feedback appreciated :)

Actually, your plan does sound reasonable. You should be able to do AK in one day. I'd do that park on your last day as it closes at 6pm. MGM in one day is doable. You'll just have to coordinate your show times. Alot of shows, just a few rides. Be sure to have your kids do the Kidcot stations in Epcot. It is alot of fun for them! My DD loves it! Sounds like your going to have alot of time to "smell the roses". Enjoy!

We are going in July and plan on 6 days in the parks.

3 at MK, where we plan to see all attractions and shows
1 at EP, where we will hit all the kid-friendly stuff. May miss a lot of WS
1 at MGM, which may not be enough, but plan on a full day
1 at AK, which should be plenty

Your days look Great!

MGM with careful planning was a full day for us and we didn't feel like we neede to go back.

I would go to AK on your last day-- we did everything that we and our 6 & 8 yr. olds wanted to do and left at 3pm.

On our next trip we will be spending 3 days each at Epcot and MK. But we will split the days up. Don't go to MK 3 days in a row, etc..

Also, stay flexible for a water park/ downtown disney day! You could go to the waterpark in the morning and DTD in the evening. This was one of our favorite days! (because we got to sleep in a little) :)

Have a blast!!
We are having a hard time WAITING for Oct. 2007!! :cool1:

We are going for 7 days in Nov/Dec. We are doing 2 days at Epcot, 2 days at MK, 1 day at AK, and 1 day at MGM. That leaves us 1 day to go wherever we decide we want to see more. Last time we had an extra day we started at AK until 11:00am then went to MK until about 6:00 and then hopped to Epcot to end the day with Illuminations. That was our favorite day because we got to do SO much, my DD7 loved it!!

Thanks for the feedback, everyone!

We did MGM in just one day last time, and AK as well, though in both cases the parks were virtually deserted when we were there, so I wasn't sure if I could count on being able to do them each in one day ordinarily. (Also, our AK day was EMH evening -- but as it turned out, the very heavy afternoon rain seemed to keep most people from coming, and we were able to do everything we wanted to within the first hour or so of EMH! Then we just rode Kali River Rapids around and around and around for at least half an hour, since there was no one waiting in line -- my daughter remembers that as one of the highlights of the trip :) We were already soaked from the rain, so we couldn't really get any wetter anyway!)

The only reason I'm hesitant to leave AK as our last day is 'just in case' something goes wrong and we miss it entirely -- we really loved it last time and would hate to miss it. I suppose there's not a lot of chance of that happening, though.

And yes, I've split the parks up -- the only park I think we might visit 2 days in a row would be MK, which the kids would be fine with :)
