How many days would you devote to HS if you aren't interested in Star Wars?
family of 4 two adults 2 young kids (age approx 5 and 8)
top interests MMRR and all of Toy Story land and terror tower I'm still figuring out how many overall park days, at least 6 I think...with 1 or 2 relaxing days on top of that

You can do the whole park in one day, especially if you're able to get there as the gates open, which is usually 45 minutes before posted opening time. Typically, if you mimic our path, you'll be in good shape to get everything done on your to do list.

On our DHS day, we drove over from AoA, no way was I trusting disney transportation! If you can walk from boardwalk area, even better. Cars are let into the parking lot when the park gates are opened, so walkers get in first. When we got to temp check, security and ticket scan, there was no line. We walked straight to MMRR. Everyone was walking into the building so we followed and walked nearly all the way to the ride. After, we went to Slinky Dog and waited about 15 minutes in line. After that we did TSM and AS2 with no wait. We were done in TSL around 10am. ToT might be an hour wait at that point, but you'll have 4 rides down. I would say other highlights for the age group might include Cars, Disney Jr dance, Muppets, and frozen. Even if you did all that and took an afternoon break, you might have more time to redo some rides in the last couple hours.

oh I didn't realize HS had Frozen anything! I thought Frozen was all at Epcot... my girls are Frozen obsessed and they are begging to do Disney Jr character dining (I heard it's coming back soon)

My family enjoys HS, but it really is a one-day park. They have a decent setup with the Disney Jr characters (now in cavalcades) and a couple excellent kid friendly rides. Frozen singalong recently reopened, and the Hollywood & Vine character breakfast will be soon. Even with a long dining experience, 1 full day is plenty.

Without shows, parades, or fireworks, I'd recommend 2 days at MK and one for each of the other parks.

Yes, there's a Frozen sing along that is a lot of fun. And the Hollywood and Vine character breakfast returns on March 22, so I'm sure both of those would be fun. It looks like the breakfast hours are 830-1030. I would highly recommend reserving between 10 and 1030 so you're able to do mmrr and TSL without waits.

1 full day (park open-park close), provided the lines are manageable (nothing longer than 1 hour) or 2 split days, 2 mostly full days should it be peak season and there are lines.

Also depends how much entertainment you want to see or if you just want to go on the rides for the most part too. If you want to do both then probably would need two mostly full days.

We usually do 1 full day and 1 split day with DHS in the morning and Epcot in the evening. This works well for us because it gives us a 2nd day to RD at DHS and another evening in WS.

So if official park opening is 9 a.m. we should arrive by 8 a.m.???
Correct. Getting there early depends on transportation. If you're staying in the Swan/Dolphin area, you can walk over and get there early to line up. If you're driving in, you're not allowed to line up at toll booths until about 10 til 8, but they won't let you through until 815. If you're doing Disney transportation, line up as early as possible in order to be among the first in.

I agree with others that HS is a one-day park. In fact, we don't even usually spend a whole day there. Unless you have a lot that you want to get in there (we aren't big show people), getting there at rope drop might not be necessary, and with littles in the mix, it might be painful to sit around for all that time waiting (heck, even for adults it is painful).

We do two days but this is when everything is open. We break up our days info half days. Two mornings and two afternoons. We like the shows, rides and fantasmic (don’t do it every trip). My daughter can spend hours watching the CoH. It is my kids favorite park.

With how the park is now we could probably do it all in one day but I would still do 1.5 days to get some extra rides on our favorites.
