How many days for Harry Potter

I am a WDW fan. I know all the ins and outs of WDW but now my children want to go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. How may days do you need for a Universal trip? We are planning to go on our next WDW trip. I feel so lost. I'm not used to being a newbie.

Please don't limit yourself to just the Wizarding World. The whole place is an adventure to see, and there aren't separate tickets for the Wizarding World, so you'll have entry to the parks themselves.
Do you know which days you'll be visiting, as that can make a big difference in terms of crowds.

For the Wizarding World you'll need a park-to-park ticket so that you can ride the Hogwarts Express train between the two parks / Harry Potter locations, and experience that magical ride.

100% agree!Give your family 2-3 days (3 is best) to really enjoy the parks! You've been to Disney- give this one a chance. It's so nice to have lots of time to practice spells, sample all the great HP treats, explore the nooks and crannies AND take on all the other great parts of the parks. There is so much to do. Don't rush it.

Read the threads and stickies on here too and do a search for similar threads, there are plenty!

As both pp mentioned, there is so much more to Universal than Harry Potter, marvellous as it is.

If you truly just want to go to HP one day would be plenty. Look on the website with the kids to see if there's anything else they would be interested in. I believe you can add to your ticket as long as you're still in the park. It really depends on how old the kids are and if they like coasters. Universal has some great coasters.

You could also get two day tickets, see all of HP the first day, then the second day you can ride some things again or go on some other things you missed. I love Universal and can't get enough of riding things multiple times but I go at times when kids are in school and the lines are not that long. Plus I get free express after 4 pm with my AP. I went at Thanksgiving last year with my brother-in-law's family and the lines were crazy.

I went to Universal alone - left wife and child behind - with a 3-day ticket in my pocket. After 1 1/2 days of intense touring (being at the gate at opening, at the park with the extra hour and speed walking to Harry Potter), I had done everything at least 2-3 times. After that, I just toured casually, taking a long time for lunch and diner, people watching while drinking a coffee, and redoing rides that were not busy. This was in July and I didn't have the Express pass.

Depending on your intensity, it is a 2 or 3 day visit. I believe most guests do 1 park per day, explaining why they often do a "buy a 2-day ticket, get one day free" promotion.

We did three days and almost skipped Sea World to have a fourth. But we don't just ride things. We like to explore and watch shows and just slow down and enjoy the place. So I guess it depends on your way of doing things.

The time you could spend exploring Diagon Alley makes just that at least half a day. And then timing in the shows, riding gringotts, visiting the Knight Bus and driver and eating at the Leaky Cauldron, for us would be one day. That doesn't even get you on the Hogwarts Express and over to Hogsmeade. Which has 3 rides, shows and more places to explore! And of course 3 Broomsticks.

Plus, I don't think I would plan on not at least exploring a little in the rest of the parks. You have to walk through to get to HP anyway so something is bound to catch you or your family's eye!

I agree with 3 day, minimum, but it really depends on what you want to accomplish while you are there.
