About ready to make reservations for our first ever trip to Orlando next spring... but I started worrying that I'm not booking enough nights.
We are planning to do 4 parks (not exactly sure which ones yet). I am planning to book 6 nights at Cypress Pointe. That will give us 5 full days. Is that enough time, too much, just right? Am I allowing enough time to see/do other things in Orlando?

Thanks for your advice!
This board has been absolutely fantastic in helping my trip planning!

NO time is ever enough for WDW!

besides other WDW vacations in the past

We stayed 9 nights in Oct 01
8nights in Dec 02
8nights in Oct 04
I have us booked for 9nights next Aug

If we lived closer (didnt need to fly) Id be there alot more often

Hi felinosaurus,

I agree with newholiday...one never seems to have enough time at WDW!!

If you have little ones in your party, or seniors, your pace will likely be slower than if there are just adults and older kids. MGM studios is the smallest of the parks and IMHO can be "done" in a day...but our family needs more than one day to do the other three parks (I know, some say AK is a half day park, but we like it and spend more time there). MK and Epcot are large area-wise and there is so much to do!

Also, most people find that after 2-3 days of touring the parks they need a rest day. So, if budget is not an issue, and you don't have strict time constraints, you may want to consider adding a couple of days. Even a week is not long enough to see everything at WDW...and though we've been 3 times (as a family)and lengthened our stay each time (last one was 14 days) we still haven't seen it all! If you do have to limit your time, do your research here on the DIS and prioritize according to what you want to see the most. You can still have a wonderful 5-day trip!!

:D

WDW takes a least a week to see it all. Then not talking about doing US and IOA either.

If I am teenagers in my group. I would take 2 days do US and IOA because of the coasters and other thrill rides.

If have your own shopping Orlando has awesome outlet malls.

Orlando takes a month to see and do everything.

We usually go 2-3 times a year and stay about 14 nights each time. To tell you the truth sometimes that is not enough. Since this is your first trip to WDW I would definately stay at least a week. Sometimes it takes a couple days just to find your way around. Have a great time!!!

I agree with everyone. It is not even remotely possible to do everything Disney has to offer in a week. And forget going to any offsite attractions if it is your first visit. I'd suggest focusing strictly on Disney for this trip so you don't run yourself too ragged and don't end up upset that you missed stuff on property.

Your 4 parks, of course, should be MK, EC, MGM and AK. As a first-timer, you will probably want at least a full day in each. (Ignore the folks who tell you that AK is a half-day park.)

I also agree that a rest day mid-week is a good idea.

Don't go with the expectation that you can see and do everything in 5 or 6 days. Go with the plan to get a good overview visit, hit the highlights at a reasonable pace and don't rush through stuff just to try and see it all. Then you can plan your second visit to catch the things you didn't get to the first time.

Why do you think so many of us go again and again? Because you can't do it all in one visit.
