How many days does it take to get staff to visit your game?

Does anyone remember those old tootsie pop commericials that asked the question how many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop? We learned from the wise owl that it took three licks.

So, now I ask, how many nights does it take to get staff to visit your game room? I don't know, but I do know that I have spent twelve nights running my latest game the Great Quest Race and have yet to have a staff member visit the room.

Now, I don't care so much about winning. Yes, it's nice to be recognized, but that is not the reason why I create games. I create them because I enjoy trying to come up with ideas that make VMK fun and fresh for my friends.

I did come up with a game that has been quite popular--the Great Quest Race. People have commented that it is a unique game, and I lost count of how many people have told me that it should win best quest or best game. I've had a steady stream of players coming to play my game each night I've opened it.

But, I have to say that I am disappointed that I have not been visited by staff. It seems like staff visits in rooms are more rare than inferno these days. I'm an adult, and I can handle the disappointment, but I hate the thought of kids putting their hard work into room and not getting staff to visit. I know my nephew has created rooms that he has tried to get staff to visit, but he hasn't seen them either.

I know the VMK staff works hard to make VMK fun for us, and I do appreciate them, but I have to say that I hardly ever see them stop in to full rooms these days.

I wish I could tell you. I think you have valid concerns that staff don't
always get to popular rooms, even those that aren't the obligatory cute or
boot, falling chairs, cafes, or 'night club' rooms.

I've been trying to hang out as much as possible in your room (and rooms
that I felt should also get recognized, like Dagny's Fish are Friends, not Food
room), but I am amazed that for as many times as you've both opened a
room, I haven't seen any staff make appearances.

On a fluke, I will be in a room where I'll see staff, but that's been pretty rare.
It makes me wonder if VMK staff is short-handed these days, or it's just been
bad luck.

I don't think just any room deserves recognition, but I'm sad when I see truly
original and creative rooms that don't get the recognition they deserve.

But I must say that I was happy to visit two Best Guest winning rooms right
before they were chosen. I'm sorry my mojo isn't working for you. ;)

Don't be so sure that staff isn't there, either as an "incognito" character or else just watching the room. I think this happens a lot more often than people realize.

I was there what more do you need!!! ;)

Yea, when staff came into my best guest room it was really like luck, because i only had like 10 ppl in it, i think they just look around on the guest list for interesting room names then visit them to see if thay're any good. I am hosting my next best guest hopeful (Terrible Tower Of Terror!), but it is a haunted mansion room, and all you can see when ppl enter is their feet, so a staff may have visited my room already, not said anything, and then left i would've never known, until i won again that is.

well when host lily came into my trivia game i was shocked, it was even the first game to! i wasnt expecting a host to come to my room :cool1:

The only thing I have heard them say is that they look for an interesting room name. Not sure if "Great Quest Race" is that eye (ear?) catching.

Also it can't hurt to have it up on the popular list.

How many days? Long Long ago it was less than a week. Now I have had quests that nobody visited for weeks, or when the visited my room, they never did the quest.

Last month, I had a quest running every single day of the month. Staff never came in...even during the times it was on the "most popular" list...including when it was at the very top. So who knows how they do it.

"Looking for a cool name" is just really really stupid.

I'd say just keep trying, eventually staff will visit if its still on the most popular list, at least, that's what makes sense to me.

Now I'm gonna come too! It sounds fun!

I guess my main point is that staff seems a lot less visable lately. About a year or so ago, I would see staff just wandering around all the time--I'd see them in the public areas or they would pop into rooms a lot more--I would see them every night. Now it seems like the only time I see staff is at the host games.

I guess I would just like to see them make more of an effort to get into some of these rooms that are more than the cute or boot or girl and boy hang out rooms. People spend a lot of time and effort to create these quests and game rooms, and a visit by staff (even if they don't win) would mean a lot.

For this particular game, I used three quest machines (including one I bought for the game), and each round costs me about 225 credits per round. I keep the game open for about 15-20 rounds a night, so I'm spending about 4000 credits a night when I open this game.

That's a lot of fireworks and ghosts. Which again, is a lot of time.

In the past year, I have had two games (the Great Quest Race and Run the Bases with Rolls) and some very good and popular Halloween quests go unanswered.

Maybe I need to bring the boogies back to my titles. hehe.

Again, it's not so much about winning best whatever room. But it would be nice if staff were more visable.

Pixie dust in hopes they will visit soon, pixiedust:
They should give you best room!! I loved how you entered the waiting area by the water ride .. so fun. It was a unique game, I loved it.

I know how you feel, I have a lumiere game, I know it doesn't seem like much but I was very new and it took me about a week to buy a random number generator, I have had my game open for about two months now and I still havent seen one staff. Not just in my room, but in any room.
