Does anyone remember those old tootsie pop commericials that asked the question how many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop? We learned from the wise owl that it took three licks.
So, now I ask, how many nights does it take to get staff to visit your game room? I don't know, but I do know that I have spent twelve nights running my latest game the Great Quest Race and have yet to have a staff member visit the room.
Now, I don't care so much about winning. Yes, it's nice to be recognized, but that is not the reason why I create games. I create them because I enjoy trying to come up with ideas that make VMK fun and fresh for my friends.
I did come up with a game that has been quite popular--the Great Quest Race. People have commented that it is a unique game, and I lost count of how many people have told me that it should win best quest or best game. I've had a steady stream of players coming to play my game each night I've opened it.
But, I have to say that I am disappointed that I have not been visited by staff. It seems like staff visits in rooms are more rare than inferno these days. I'm an adult, and I can handle the disappointment, but I hate the thought of kids putting their hard work into room and not getting staff to visit. I know my nephew has created rooms that he has tried to get staff to visit, but he hasn't seen them either.
I know the VMK staff works hard to make VMK fun for us, and I do appreciate them, but I have to say that I hardly ever see them stop in to full rooms these days.
