We're planning on a November or December visit and are trying to figure out how many days we need. We have 3 kids (who will be 7, 9 & 11) and 2 grandparents with DH and myself. We had 5 days in DL last month and it wasn't quite enough. Do you think we can get away with 7 days at WDW? Or do we need more?

The answer is that there are never enough days for WDW. It is so much larger than DL you will be shocked at the difference. Book as many days as you can as long as you keep in mind that you will never be able to see and do everything in one trip. Keep reading these boards for some great advice and check out the loads of WDW information on allearsnet.com and wdwinfo.com.

I agree. If 5 days wasn't enough for you at DL, you will need more than 7 at WDW. I would go for as many as you can. When DS was younger, we discovered that for us, about 12 days was the perfect amount of time. Of course, for the first few trips, we were sure that it was a "once in a lifetime" trip or "the last time" and wanted to do it all. Our first trip was 8 days & we instantly realized that was too short.
But, no matter how long you can go for, you will never do it all in one trip & you will still have a Magical Time.

I am with wdwgoofee never enough time. We are staying 7 nights and I am putting 2 days "off" into plan. THose "off" days we'll be doing MNSSHP and HDDR. Today is my day to call in ADR's- and when I was going over the plan with DH he said" Why dont you just start another page for the next trip?"
We are going Oct 2006. I have DS9 and DD3 and my mom is coming with us.
I want to PACE our trip, its just easier ssaid than done

We usually go for a week. With that said you will never see and do all in that amount of time. It just makes it easier to plan the next trip to see everything that you missed.

If you did not get "quite enough" time at DLR in FIVE DAYS...

I don't know how much to tell you to do at WDW.

We made 3 different trips from the KC area to WDW last year (Annual Passes).

We had a combined total of 30 days at WDW. We average 9-10 days per any trip we make and with our experience-level, we can do everything we want and still have a relaxing, magical time.
Yes, we ride every ride and see every show... more than once on some, many times on others.

But we STILL like to GO BACK. (We have ressies for mid-May, coming up!)

We never visit the Water Parks (we can do that at home).
Don't do Wide World of Sports.
We DO the Hoop Dee Doo Review at least once a year.
We dine at favorite restaurants (about one sit-down per day).
Wishes, Fantasmic! or IllumiNations virtually every night
(and the Electric Water Pageant, too).
Sometimes at trip to Pleasure Island (what's left of it) for Comedy Club and Adventurer's Club (Kungaloosh!).
Visit many of the resorts to shop and dine (Ohana is a favorite for dinner).
And shopping at DTD, too.

And the NUMBER ONE TIP to make the most of your time there, is to arrive at ANY park you choose... E-A-R-L-Y (EMH or not) .

FWIW, I'd say you want a MINIMUM of 10 days to really get a "feel" of the place... MORE if you can manage it.

It is a HUGE place... all built for FUN!

what do you do there for 12 days- do you go to the parks over and over- My kids are older so i don't think we'll need to do the youger rides at MK- we went when they were younger- We ar going for 6 days Monday thru Saturday in July and plan to do a water park one morning- I think it's enough time - we don't do everything in every park- maybe you pros could give some suggestions for 11 and 13 year olds- something I don't know about because we've only been once -in 1999.

7 days in the parks is enough for my family (3 kids 12, 9 and 6), but if 5 wasn't enough for you at DL, you'll need at least a couple weeks at WDW, which is much larger than DL.

Wow ... I guess we'll just plan as many days as we can swing this time around. Thanks all for your suggestions. I'm sure I'll be back on the board with more questions soon!

Get as much WDW time as you can!
My bf would only go to fl if we went to islands of adventure...so i need to set aside a day for that (blah, i'v been there... just like universal i feel like "been there done that")...

I'm going for 8 days... this way i have at least 6full days and one half day (last day we are leaving early in the morning so it does'nt count).

This is what i'm thinking

day 1 arrive at part around 3pm MK
day 2 epcot
day 3 animal kingdom
day 4 MK
day 5 islands of adventure
day 6 probally park hop to see whatever we missed
day 7 (sat.) MGM ( for star wars weekend) MGM is my least fav. park but i'm excited for starwars weekend. I'v been to MGM a few times and it rarely seems to change.
