How many days can you wear the same thing in cold climates?

One of my pet peeves is when my kids put jeans in the wash that have only been worn a couple of hours!

Ms Shuttergirl, you sound all set! The gortex shoes sound like tough stuff. With the clothes you can always see how you go. If it feels ok, keep wearing it, if it feels grotty, wash it! Although washing jeans are a pain.

I think we bought some purex sheets at Walmart last time? I bought enough to last me 2 years of travelling!

You were very clever to stock up. My husband fell in love with them. Not that he used them, I did but he thought they were the most wonderful thing :lmao:.

I agree with the clothes thing, just play it by ear. I may do some googling and look for some laundromats in Boston and Washington though. Handwashing jeans isn't for the fainthearted :).

My son does this all the time, he is such a shocker.

Try to get merino for your thermals - it breathes better (ie you can get more days out of it before it gets smelly :thumbsup2), and dries so quick! You can even get merino undies, which my MIL swears by for travelling. They're not cheap though...

I rarely use a laundry/laundry service while travelling - usually just stick to hand-washing. Yes, it's a pain, but at least you still enjoy your room while you're doing it (and wear what you like :rotfl:). And it's not too bad if you've got the right clothes that don't hold water.
