How many children did you want vs How many did you have?

I always wanted 3 or 4 kiddos (gender didnt matter). We were very blessed and have 4 wonderful sons plus we just became the guardians of my oldest ds best friend so now we have 5 boys!

Part of me would like at least one. I love kids.

But for various personal and financial reasons, not having any.

I've always wanted 3 - 2 girls and a boy- I have boy/girl twins and am going through a divorce. I feel very forunate to have one of each, but if I am ever blessed enough to find the love of my life, I would still be open to having one more. :D

We wanted 1-3 kids didn't really have a set number. We ended up having 2(1 boy, 1 girl) and now we're done.

Growing up I knew I wanted a boy and a girl and that is what I got! However, after the birth of my daughter, I divorced my first husband. I married a man with 2 daughters and 1 son so then I had 5. THEN the mother of his children passed away after giving birth to her 3rd daughter (the biological father of 3rd daughter left when she was pregnant) so hubby and I are now raising her with ours! I have adopted all of them and hubby adopted the baby making this a family of 6 kids. I quit my job of 15 years, traded in my blazer for a conversion van and bought a 32 foot travel trailer with 4 bunks and a Ford F350 crew cab truck to tow it with. Thank goodness my husband makes good money because me and the kids pile up in the truck and go camping at FW for weeks at a time! Looking back, I can not imagine having only 2 for I now know I am blessed with 6 beautiful, healthy kids.

We have one DS right now. I would like to have two more. DH, I think, would be happy with just one more but I think he's willing to go for two more. :) I'm an only child and have always wanted more than just one child.

We wanted two. We had two, a girl and a boy.:D

Before I had kids I wanted either 4 boys or 3 girls. Now I have 1 boy and 1 girl, and that's enough for me!!!

Wow, all you lucky mommies & daddies w/ beautiful kids! :D

DH and I got married in 2002, and we want 2 kids but haven't had one yet! (tried for almost 8 mths now,it's starting to scare me :( ) But we want to have 2 kids and we also want to adopt one (3 all together).

:p

While we were dating and talked about when we got married and started a family, we always talked about having three kids.

We stopped after we had our second...that was enough for us! :)

We have a girl and a boy, almost two years apart.
I will just quote this because this is my situation exactly. LOL
Always wanted 3(I think because DH and I are both one of 3), had our daughter and then 22 months later our son..and we have pretty much decided that's it. We are very pleased with our family, though sometimes I still get that urge for a sweet snuggly baby, but not enough to actually have another one.
;)

Otto and I always said "2 or 3" while we were dating. Had DS and DD 2 years apart, which was perfect for us.

DH came from a family of 11 and he wanted "lots". I wanted 7. After having 4 (identical twin boys and 2 girls) in 2-1/2 years we decided finances and job situations wouldn't allow for more. We are thrilled with our 4 wonderful (now adult) children. They are all very very close. We now have 4 beautiful grandbabies (each of our sons have a boy and a girl). We look forward to every grandchild our children decide to bless us with. But it is certainly their choice as to the number of children they decide to have. We are very very blessed.

Let's see.

I had a girl in 1997 so she is seven years old.
I had a boy in 1999 so he is five years old.

I wanted more but my husband only wanted two.

We compromised. I got my tubes tied.

Then I because a gestational surrogate (carrier). This where I only carry the baby for a couple and I am not biologically related to the baby.

I had a surrodaughter in 2002.

I am now attempting IVF with a new couple so hopefully I'll deliver another surrobaby in 2004.

 Kudos to you and a great big

I always wanted 3, DH said 2 unless both were the same gender then he would go for 3. We had a girl and then a boy. DH wanted to be done, but I knew I didn't. We talked about it for a long time and then had another girl. DH is so glad I changed his mind. He says he cannot imagine our family without our youngest DD. Now we're definitely done because 3 is enough for us!

I wanted two children. I have one son and he is my blessing.

In the beginning I didn't want any. I had too many fears and worries. I waited until I had been married 7 yrs which I think really helped to overcome those fears. I have 3 children 21, 18 and 10. I also miscarried one. I can't imagine life without them. Sometimes I wish I had a couple more.

We want two, then if we have two of the same gender, we'll talk about a third.

Right now I'm disliking pregnancy, so we'll see about a second! :p
