How many characters will we meet on a cruise?

Hello. I’ve posted previously that we are going on a 5 day cruise then hit Disneyland for two days. I Plan to book the Royal tea and any and all character meet and greets. I was going to book Goofy’s Kitchen at DL but if we are going to meet a ton of characters on the cruise I may ditch Goofy’s Kitchen and focus on rides and one dining package like fantasmic or world of color. Thank you in advance.

On the 7 day I just recently went on we got autographs from somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-22 characters, not including the "newer" disneyxd characters or wherever they are from.

Disney Xd? Anyone know what this is?

Depends on how much time you want to spend going to the meet and greets. When we took dd on her first cruise, we got all the princesses(5), all fab 5 and some other characters like Chip and Dale. So probably around 20. There will be many different times that you can see the same characters, especially the fab 5. On our last cruise we only stood in line for 2 pic/autographs because dd is older and has done it several times and doesn't really care anymore. I made her get in line with me to see Donald and Pluto.:)

Thank you.

Sorry I guess it is the Disney Junior characters.

There were a few of them, but I don't have any kids and am an adult so do not know any of the Disney Junior things :)

I really wished I would have decided to stand in line for the characters on our cruise - especially on formal night, so don't pass up the chance when you have it if you are into the characters!

Why did you skip? Was the line long?

The lines looked long to me although when I later stopped to think about the length of the lines at WDW, they were comparable if not shorter - I would say.

I’ve always thought the lines for characters on DCL are way shorter than at Disney World. Plus sometimes the characters come in the kids clubs unannounced and play with them randomly.

Check out the Personal Navigators from previous 5-night cruises for your ship. http://disneycruiselineblog.com/personal-navigators/

While your particular cruise will not exactly match a previous cruise, it can give you an idea of what characters are available at what times of day.

Also, I found that I'd see most characters on our Disney Wonder 5-night within 10-15 minutes, depending on what time I got in line. Definitely book your free tickets for the Princess Group and for Anna/Elsa as soon as your booking window opens. We saw 4 princesses in less than 5 minutes and Anna/Elsa we showed up five minutes early to find that they had also started early, and there were only 3 people in line ahead of us. Pirate Mickey on Pirate night was more crazy. We had to wait 20-30 minutes for big ones like that.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you do the 'Til We Meet Again show at the very end, all of those characters (Fab 5, Princesses, Chip/Dale, Stitch, Captain Hook, even the theatre show cast) will mingle around for about 15-20 minutes. We got like 6-7 characters in barely 10 minutes that way.

Thank you so much! Glad We are going on a Disney Cruise!

Like others have mentioned-you also need to factor in the characters that you will just randomly encounter moving around the ship. While we did wait in line for many character meets we also had amazing interactions with formal Donald, Geppetto, Pluto, Cruise Donald and Captain Hook. Those we all unplanned encounters Have a great cruise!!

And there are two kinds of unscheduled character meetings. One is when characters wonder around and meet a person/family here or there as they go. Another is when they set up a line and meet a bunch of families in a row, but not at a scheduled time and place. Both are great, and in addition to the scheduled meets and greets.

They will also have open houses in the kids club where everyone can go and experience special activities. I did one with DS10 on our Fantasy cruise in March and we met (and did "magic") with Dr. Strange. So, there are a ton of character meet opportunities on the ship!

They have constant meet and greets throughout the day. I kids were able to get 15-20+ characters during the cruise. Be sure to get Captain Jack Sparrow on Pirate's night!
