We currently have Tusker House breakfast, the Grand Gathering breakfast (@ Tony Town Square w/ Mickey & friends) and the Crystal Palace at breakfast.
We don't have any character dinners or lunch. The CP and Tusker house are before the park opens and with just the 4 of us (DH, me, 3-year old son, and baby) and the grand gathering is with a group of 20. It's a 7-day trip and the first trip for all of us!
Is 3 character meals too many? There's some overlap of characters with the grand gathering and Tusker house - should I skip the Tusker house?
The other ADRs I have are Biergarten (group of 20), and Kona (just us), both dinners.

Definitely not in my opinion. With little kids i love character meals, and they're all different and good choices.
Have fun!!!

Not my opinion either. My boys loved them when them were yonger and still do now that they are older. It's fun :thumbsup2

We are going in May with my DS5, DD2, and my brother's family is going too...DS3 & DD2. Here are the charcter meals we have booked: Hollywood & Vine Lunch (playhouse disney characters), Chef Mickey's for dinner, Crystal palace for breakfast & The Garden Grille for dinner. I am hoping we made good choices. I think we have a character meal every other day.

You can never have enough character meals! We took our 2 nieces last month and they had a blast at the character meals, when we take them again I am going to make sure to start each morning off with a character meal :thumbsup2

My kids will be 9 and 3 on the next trip. I have 7 character meals planned for our 8 day trip.

I don't think so. We did the most character meals (and more than you have planned! LOL) when our youngest was 3yrs old. (our trip when she was 2yrs old we hadn't found this board and really knew nothing about ADR's, character meals, etc. The only character meal that time was just showing up at Akershus for breakfast and somehow they got us in even though we had no ADR LOL)
But anyway- the trip when she was 3 we had the most character meals- almost every day.. and she loved it SO MUCH! I had family members tell me she'll never remember it at that age but she's almost 9 now and she still remembers. :) (she also talked about it nonstop for up to a year afterwards until our next trip LOL)

Unless your 3yr old is like afraid of characters- he will probably really enjoy the special time with characters that you can get at character meals. :)

When our DD was 3 years old meeting the characters was a huge part of why she loved WDW. We had CRT, CP, CM, Cape May, and 1900 PF booked on one trip. It saved us time waiting in line to meet the characters, and she was able to fill up her little Photo/Autograph book without us spending our park time visiting the characters. We spread these over a 2-week trip, though.

IMO 3 character meals is definitely not too many.

I agree with everyone else. The more character meals the better. Age 3 is wonderful (as are other ages.....) to see kids' expressions and excitement while dining with characters. We normally plan about 6 character meals each trip (normally stay 9 or 10 days).

I took my 2.5yo DNiece last June and we did Chef Mickey's, CRT, CP and Hollywood & Vine for the Playhouse Disney characters. She loved all of them.

Agree with PPs above, you just can't have too many character meals!! My DS3 loved little Einsteins, so we had to do Hollywood and Vine for him (with June/Leo and JoJo/Goliath). He absolutely loved every character meal. We do at least one a day, more if I can fit it into the schedule.

We did CRT, CP, Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fare (B + D) and Donald's Safari Breakfast.

Character meals are great. No waiting in line to meet the characters.

No such thing as too many character meals! lol :) In October with our two year old, we did CP for Breakfast, Chef Mickey's for Breakfast, Tusker House for breakfast, Cape May Cafe for breakfast, Hollywood and Vine for breakfast, and CRT for breakfast. At dinner, we usually choose somewhere a little fancier. We were on deluxe dining though....
