Iam starting to get worried we are not going to fit everything in the hire car the other end.

Just started packing today...and its not looking good  ...Just my 6year olds clothes and stuff is filling one case. Iam afraid I have gone a little bit wild in the aisles shopping for this trip :rolleyes1

I think I should squeexe it all into 3 cases :Pinkbounc ...But we only have a 4 door intermediate...will it fit??
I suppose we will have to upgrade if it wont...but to get a 7 seater is an extra £140. I think to upgrade to a full size 4 door was only £40 but is that much bigger? :confused3

We take 3 suit cases. In a intermediate 4 door we have to put 2 in the boot and the other one has to go in the car.

You shouldn't have a problem with 3 cases. We always have 4 average sized ones and a couple of holdalls and manage easily enough. We had a seven seater on one trip when my parents came along and to be honest while it was great for getting around in it had little or no room for all our luggage in fact if I remember correctly my dad had to sit with a case on his lap. The guy's who take you to your hire car are very helpful. As they do it all day long they seem to know just how to pack the boot to get everything in and I don't suppose the prospect of a good tip does any harm either :rotfl:

Thank you Both!! :) ...Thats very reassuring...so now I can go full speed ahead with the packing. :teeth:

We have taken 2 big cases and 2 kids cases in the past and have had the intermidate size car. We are a family of 4 and the 2 smaller cases fitted in the back between the kids. It is worse on the return journey to the airport, when you have done all that shopping in the Florida Malls, we had to buy an extra suitcase last time to bring our purchases home. :)

now we take 2 big cases and get a 4+4 which fit fine on the way from the airport,

now the way backs another story lol we normally have two bg extended cases, two full size body bags (not realbody ones of course) and at least one package plus two hand luggage, and that takes all the boot and the back seat

Is it just 1 child? If so I reckon you'll be fine, may have to put one in the back :)

'Scuse me if this sounds daft but do you need to take so much stuff?

We've got three kids (11,9,7) and go out with one and a bit suitcases containg t-shirts, shorts and underwear. Go shopping when we get there and as we use a villa, wash and re-wear clothes. When we come back it's a different matter . . . we have loads of cases from the shopping trips.

We've gone for a "compact" (Astra/Focus size) in the past (3 of us). We get 3 large suitcases and 3 carry-ons into it with ease (1 suitcase on the back seat). This year we did have an "intermediate" but that was only because they'd run out of "compacts".

We had an intermediate this year because I knew it was a smaller car than we had in the past I didn't take one of the hard bodied cases we normally take. We took one large hard bodied samsonite case and two large soft bodied holdall bags, these all fitted into the boot no problem. We did buy an extra soft sport large holdall to fit the buys in on the way back and this went on the back seat between the kids.

I don't know who you are flying with but we had a luggage weight restriction of 20 kg per person. Hard bodied cases weigh quite a lot before you get anything in and the only reason we take one now is for carrying back any breakable objects. Light holdalls weigh next to nothing to start with so obviously either more clothes can be taken or as in our case, we travel light to allow for purchases abroad.
