How many camera cards do you have?

Wow, everyone has a lot of cards.

Like I said for my last trip in 2003, I only had a 512 and a 128mb compact flash card. I even stayed for 2 weeks but also brought my laptop with me and I kept a total of 500 pictures.

This 1gb SD card is the highest I ever had. My next trip won't be till 2008 and I'm hoping that I won't have to bring the laptop with me. I'm going to try and be a good girl and leave it at home.

Guess I might be investing in more 1gb cards. 2 gb would be nice but then if it fails, it's such a waste of $. With the dell website, you can get (2) 1gb cards for the same price as a 2gb. At least this would give me 2 cards incase of a failure (instead of 1).

Keep in mind that the bigger the card, the more pics it holds - which is not a good thing if your card glitches.

I never put more than one day's pics on any single card; that way, I will never lose more than one day's pics if the card glitches, dies, or goes missing.

We've a 512Mb and 32Mb for Canon D300 (Rebel) and 256Mb and 32Mb for Olympus Compact.

I want a 4GB card and almost bought an old iPOD last year to take that 4GB card out of it but I was chicken. Now that the price has gone down a bit I might do it.

that is risky business, I have a 4 gig hitachi microdrive that came out of an mp3 player, right after I got mine Hitachi got wise to the fact that people were doing that, and supposedly put a microchip in the microdrives that they were supplying to mp3 player companies, that disabled the microdrive if it was removed from the player..

the supply of 4 gig microdrives disappeared from ebay quickly..
