How many books????

Well I only have One child but several albums going.

I started scrap booking about 2 years ago when our DD was 12 so I started an over the years album. With many different ages but the same event on the same page.

I have a Christmas Album which is now current, a DISNEY trip album (which I still need to put in our 2001 Christmas trip)

Now I am working on a from birth album but, I am contemplating also making a school days album I like have two going at the same time. And if I do a school days album it will be current before the from birth album so I will feel like I accomplished something.

I know this probably sounds crazy with only one child but the 3 of us really enjoy our albums.

I have 5 kids and the thought of doing an album for each of them was overwhelming so I decided I would just do family albums in chronological order. I use 3-ring 12x12 albums with top-loading page protectors so I can scrap out of order and just move the pages around. I do have pages that have just 1 pictures of one child on them, so eventually I may decide to make each child an album of those pages. Other than that, I am going to make color copies of whatever pages my kids want when they move out of the house and want their own memory books.

Our Disney albums are the same way, I don't make one for each child. I have 4 Disney albums so far (1 for pre-2000 trips, 2 for the 2000 trip to WDW, and 1 for the 2001 trip to DL).

A friend and very good scrapbooker (ICC Ivy League, etc.) does individual albums for her boys in 8.5x11 size and then does a 12x12 album as a "remember when we did that?" kind of book or basically a family album. But she doesn't put everything in the family album. Just the really big things or the events with pictures of them as a group. She has been scrapping since the first one was born. OTOH I didn't start until the oldest was 16.

You just need to decide what will work for you, and realize that you may even change your mind later...LOL.
