How many attractions do you expect to visit?

This is a tough question to address because it depends so heavily on what you are interested in doing and how quickly you are able to get around.

But, based on what we have seen at MK the last few days with closer to average than way above average crowds, if you arrive at opening and spend 12 hours in the park you should have no problem doing 20 attractions in a day if that is your goal.

Of course, that requires an efficient plan of doing some of the most popular attractions early, using your 3 FPs to avoid a few long lines later, mixing in some of the "anytime" attractions in the middle of the day, and accepting the fact that you may have to get into a line with a posted wait of 30 minutes or so once in a while if you want to be doing some attractions in the middle of the afternoon.

I can provide more details of what we saw the last few days when I get home. But, I voted 13-16 because that's about what we would usually do if we start the day at MK. But, we usually don't do many, if any attractions in the middle of the afternoon because we are often out of the parks. If it was our goal to do more attractions, we could do 20 or more and that would include some things like a parade or show, Peoplemover, COP, or things like that.

In August 2014 we did 10/11 before our character lunch at CP: Pooh, Barnstormer, Dumbo, Tea Cups, Carousel, A&E Meet 'n Greet (FP+ for part of the group), Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, IASW, ETWB, Little Mermaid. After lunch and pool break back at the hotel we came back and did POTC (FP), JC (FP), Tiki Room, and Space Mountain (FP for the rest of the group). Total for the day was 14 if you don't include the character lunch. We also saw one of the parades. On our second MK day we did CRT breakfast, BTMRR (twice), Splash, Country Bears, Monsters Inc., Stitch, Buzz (FP), 7DMT (FP), Dinner at BOG, ETWB, and HM (FP). So that was 9 attractions (not including character meals) with another long pool break, So, on a bell to bell day I would expect to do 16+.

I changed my vote to "obligatory other," 'cause I feel the need to point out that we're very familiar with the parks. While we have our favorites, this trip is to catch up on the "new" stuff (to us, since 2010) so once we get that done, we'll feel "fulfilled."

My brother(19) and I (26) did some hard core touring when we went in Aug. I think we averaged 15(AK day with evening in MK)-25(MK day with evening EMH) rides/shows per day. We would be there from park opening until close (or close to it on MK EMH evenings) everyday with a Dinner ADR. One of my friends tried to keep up with us but ended up having to take some breaks back in the room while we just kept on going.

None of us were really bothered by lines but I'm the super planner so I optimized our schedule and they'd follow my recommendations. Some rain early on in our trip also made for some light crowds on some days and let us get more done after we threw on our ponchos.

We don't stay in the park for a full 12 hours, so I based my answer on the average number of attractions we've done per hour in MK on our past couple trips. With two young kids, that's been 2-3. And I'm counting character meets, parades, fireworks, etc as "attractions" because even though they aren't rides they are things we choose to spend our park time on.

So for this hypothetical 9am-9pm day, let's say you take 1 hour each for lunch and dinner. That leaves you with 10 hours of touring time. Averaging even just 2 attractions per hour, that's 20 attractions. Obviously you won't literally do 2 attractions per hour every hour, but if we're talking about averages for a full 12-hour day I think that's a reasonable number.

At MK, even during the holidays, I expect to experience 16+ attractions in a full day. For our Christmas week trip this year, I expect to start at 7, not 9. I know I won't come close if I don't start until 9. This Christmas will be our second with FP+. We were not able to do nearly as much last year as we did with the old FP system, and I fear it will be even less this year, but I'm hoping for the best.

I looked back at some of my previous Touring Plans, and we easily got 16 and had free time left to do more or repeats. Spring Break this year we did 21 and still had time to do more. If we didn't do something that trip, it was because we didn't want to. We also did the dessert party that day. We always do RD and AM EMH if it's available. We usually don't do any attractions once the first night parade and fireworks start. We tend to head out after the fireworks, since we do RD.

9-12 due to my family composition and the logistics if us going. (This is counting rides we baby swap as only one ride even though we wait for 2 rides on it so everyone can ride.) If I was aiming to do as many rides as possible, more than 16.

I said 9-12 on the conservative side, and that would include a mid day break. I think it is totally possible to do 16+ if you don't take a break or have a good touring strategy. Now, not all of the attractions would be the most popular ones, but you have to remember that MK has some attractions that usually have no/little wait like the Tiki room, Country Bears, Swiss Robinson Treehouse, Hall of Presidents, etc....

We were in Disney the first week of November. We hit MK on Monday and Friday. I think we did 20 and 18 attractions, respectively (I'm including minor attractions, such as 15-25 minutes at the spray park, and three long, "themed" meals - Cinderella's Castle, lunch at BOG, and an 45-60 minute break with Sunny Eclipse).

In both cases, we started at park open (8 am on Monday, 9 am on Friday) and went until around 6 pm. In both cases, we did MUCH more in the morning than the afternoon - on Monday, we did 12 attractions before lunch! On Friday, we wound up using 6 FastPasses, but some of the attractions were also low-hanging fruit to fill the time while waiting (while waiting for Buzz Lightyear, we walked on to both Carousel of Progress and the Peoplemover... all family favorites, but we didn't really NEED a second go-around for either).

So who and how you poll, matters. Think of it this way. Let's say we want a poll of the fastest speed people have driven. You ask this poll...
1) on a racing forum
2) at a local DMV
You're going to get very different results! 1) will tell you how you compare to other people whose hobbies involve driving particularly fast. 2) will tell you how you compare to all people who go in to the DMV.

Specifically, let's say MK on a non-Holiday trip.

How many attractions (rides or shows) do you expect in a full day at MK? Say a 9AM - 9PM day.

I see posters throw around numbers of attractions people expect to engage in as though it is a given. And they are usually much lower numbers than I would aim for.

16+ but I included multiple rides on lower priority rides like Aladdin and Teacups, plus people mover, carousels, etc.

I put myself down for the 13-16 category because that is how many I would "expect" to do. In reality, on a given MK day we'll easily do 20+ without a crazy efficient plan or even hitting rope drop.

Edit: and that's just counting first rides. We'll double up on a lot throughout the day if we see a low wait posted.

That's 18 things by the 3:30 parade. It was an 8 AM opening though so the first 2 hours were absolutely dead. After Jungle Cruise we waited about 15 minutes while some people in our group used the restroom, and we hardly saw another person while waiting.
