How many AP's do not have reservations and are waiting?

I'm still waiting for AP rates for Sept. 12-20th and have not yet made my reservations, I too will have to book something by the end of the week, but am really disappointed about the lack of rates for AP holders.
I agree that Disney should just make the announcement already, if they're not going to have any discounts for this time period, so that we can all take a deep breath and make reservations at full price of elsewhere.

I am an AP holder. I love the discounts that have been provided to me in the past. I went 3 times last year at an incredible savings. I have YC booked for September and I am prepared to pay rack rate. When I book a vacation, I always budget so that I will be prepared to pay rack rate, if I have to. Even though deep discounts have been provided in the past, you can't rely on Disney to keep on givig them. I think the big delay in this year's rates has to do with the FTP. They have more rooms booked than they usually do for my time. I almost booked the FTP and I see now that I should have. If they stop the discounts altogether, I won't renew the AP. Seems like Disney is moving in the direction of the FTP for savings.

I have an AP and am waiting on AP rates to come out. Actually, I could use the FL resident rate or the AP rate and neither has come out yet. I waited this past spring for APs and finally got the AP rate on Monday before my trip on Saturday! Having this AP has done nothing for my blood pressure! Everyday I check here and on the mousesavers site and everyday it is the same story. If the discounted rates don't come out, I'll either be staying off-site or not going to Disney.

We have AP's and most of our Oct. trip is booked with our DVC points. We do want to stay the night of Nov. 1st. I'm holding out for AP rates and if none come out I'll do priceline or something. I doubt we're going to be willing to pay rack rates for a room because we're preparing to buy a house right now. I'm also considering the AP rate at the Swan/Dolphin.

We already have 2 weekend nights on points this trip...so I don't want to use up anymore points on a weekend night.

Right now I'm not that worried about it. I'm sure we'll find something. I'm also considering something cheap and off property for Oct. 24th (mainly just to get some sleep after driving from SC that night, checking in at 2 or 3 am) ....so I'm keeping my eye out for any good off property specials.

I'm awfully glad we don't rely on AP rates for our trips entirely! Though I do like being able to add a night or three at a great rate since I usually can get one! We were really hoping for a good Contemporary rate or something like that.

To be honest...all this AP rate waiting is why a lot of people buy DVC!

Just an update: I booked the Swan yesterday for our December trip, using their AP discount. BTW, there are already some unavailable dates (for standard rooms, anyway) even in December at the S/D--the wonderful reservationist I spoke with got permission from her supervisor to give me the AP discount rate for our entire stay (Dec 5-14) even though the 5-8 were "sold out." I think they decided to give me the rate because the stay is for 9 nights...and also because the reservationist was so nice and we were chatting for quite a while.

I feel so relieved knowing we have a deluxe room booked at a reasonable price. This way, if AP rates never appear, it's okay. Although now I'm wondering if we'll switch over to WL (our first choice) if AP rates ever do appear, since now I'm a Swan fan!, even though we've never stayed there. They were so accommodating on the phone (a toll-free number, no less!), and the thought of down pillows and walking to Epcot sounds excellent to me.

We are staying at OKW for all but our first night there. Waiting for an AP rate for that. I haven't even called about any other codes for the night of Oct. 11. I have never waited this long and am a little nervous about it, especially since the preliminary things I heard were for August 23-October 1st. Does that mean I'm going to have to wait until October 1st to hear any AP rates for the 11th. We are driving and leave home on the 10th. I know we will have a place to stay, but it is Columbus weekend and I wonder...

I know that we are not going until the end of Nov but I have been watching the AP game here on the board for the last few months and I feel for all of you who are going at the end of August or beginning of Sept and are calling every day to see if the rates have been released. Gosh, maybe Disney and the long distance phone companies have a deal going because many of us are certainly spending our pennies on long distance calls to the House of Mouse. So....We decided that the AP game wasn't for us any longer. So... as much as I adore the AKL.... it is the Swan for us. If they ever come out with AP rates, we are going to try to add an extra 2 nights at the beginning at AKL and if not may just book off-site or oh my gosh... even try that Universal place for those 2 extra nights..... which we would never have done before!!!

Disney hasn't been doing well at all with AP rates...very few of them seem to be available when they do offer them. I would suggest trying the swan or dolphin now for your dates. The resorts are wonderful!

I was one that booked FTP, even though we have had AP's.
Our AP expired in June, so I thought instead of renewing.....I would wait and just get new AP's in Oct. That way we could use them 2 more times and not just once, since then they will expire next Oct.
BUT.......then the FTP came up. It really is a great deal. So we booked using that.
But I am still waiting for AP rates. I figured it out...and if they come up with decent discounts (typical to what they have been in the past)....I would probably only pay around $100 more to get AP's. Therefore next years tickets will be take care of.

BUT....here we all wait!
I just got my Mickey Monitor.....can't believe the only discount listed ENDS August 23rd!!!!! Here it is already August 9th!!!!! How dumb is that!!!????

Just noticed you also live in ohio and will be at WDW the same time as we are. Where are you staying? I just booked 5 nights at POR and 5 nights at CBR--rack rate
I will change it to AAA rate if AP rates don't appear soon.

Well I finally got my room reservations today! I guess that my husband was getting too anxious and went ahead and booked with AAA rates, getting us 20% off rack rates at POR. I would still love to get an AP rate and possibly stay at a deluxe, but POR is our favorite moderate. So I'll be satisfied with that.

We are booked at the Poly! Very excited about it!

At first we booked at CSR with the FTP. Great price there!
But this is the only vacation for DH this year. So he was really hoping for a deluxe.
And I really wanted to be close enough to either walk or monorail to MK or Epcot. We usually drive to AK and MGM.

So called back and they had Contemporary wings. So switched to that. But......DH just isn't crazy about CR. It just feels to "hotel-ish".
So...on the phone again....had to try a few times. Then they had one room left at Poly. So I grabbed it. Great Price!!
But since we are planning to return in June....I figured it out and if we can get Poly for $200/night or less including tax, it would only be like $100 more to book that and get the AP's for all 3 of us. That would mean that next June's trip tickets are practically free.
