How Lucky Are We!

I just realized, once again, how lucky we are to be DVCers. There is a great post on the theme parks board about what you would do if money was no object. Many of the posters put they would buy DVC points. I'm sure many of them don't know how affordable it really is, but I made me step back and think about how fortunate I am to be able to have two trips planned in the next 5 months. That wouldn't be possible without DVC. It certainly wouldn't be possible to spend 6 nights at OKW in a studio and then 3 months later 5 days in a BWV Grand Villa and another 6 days in a BCV 1 bdr. We used to take a trip every other year fror 10 days in a moderate. We talked about DVC frequently but never checked into it, thinking we couldn't afford it. Four years, four contracts and 500 points later we feel like it is hands down the best thing we ever did.

Well said, CJ! When a similar thread was started here, guess what everyone said they would do if they hit the lottery? Buy more points!

Totally agree. I was down at the yacht club last july and while walking the boardwalk they hit us up about becoming a dvc member. What makes me sick was they had bcv and bwv for only 79$ a point.. When your on vaca dumping thousands already , you dont want to hear that you only need 1500 bucks for a downpayment. Now here I am yr later , and I am now a new dvc member at BWv ,and love every moment of it ..

I've been to Disney 3 times this year so far and I never thought about joining the DVC until I heard my store (The Disney Store) was closing. Two weeks before they closed, I bought into the DVC so I could get the Discount. I now have 150 points at BWV and 150 points at SSR. I can't wait to go on my points but I have one more vacation on my Castmember discount in October, so I will have to wait until next year to use some of my points up..

Ceejay13, very well said. We should, on a daily basis, remember how fortunate we are.

Very well put indeed! We have yet to use our points (only 11 more days!!) but just knowing that we will be able to travel there each year and have great accomodations is truely a relief!

We are totally enjoying our points! It's like a vacation 401K! but I don't have to wait until Im 57 1/2 to use it! LOL
