How loud is it?

I know it's Disney and by no means do I expect total peace and quiet but I was just wondering just how loud it gets at night with all of the kids all hyped up on Disney endorphines:laughing:?

Which sites are the quiet sites for tent/pop-up's??

Thanks ahead of time!

If you are talking about the campsites and cabins, my experience has been that the adults make more noise than the kids do. If you are really close to a comfort station, you'll have more people passing by and the potential for more noise. If you are near a bus stop, you'll have some bus noise. I've only had one really bad noise experience. I was staying in a cabin and there were at least three cabins of people who decided to throw a party on one of the outdoor cabin decks really late at night. Of course, it was the night before I was checking out, and I was really hoping for a good night's sleep. It wasn't the talking that was so bad, but they had some sort of sound system set up and the bass beat kept shaking my bed - which of course would wake me up. I think they stopped around 1am. Other than that one time, the noise level has been way below what I've experienced at other Disney resorts.

I would say for the most part its very quiet. Kids are usually more noisier in the morning in anticipation of the day. By the end of the day they are usually tuckered out and go to bed early. Comfort station areas can be noisy as people pass by. If your near a bus stop that would be your biggest concern.
In all the years we have stayed we have only seen one bad neighbor so relax and enjoy

I have had a lot more issues with noise at other campgrounds than at FW.

As others have said, the Fort is not typically noisy at all. The only noises are the ones I love to hear, like the boat whistle on the lake, and the water pageant which is usually at 9:45pm on the lake. I don't usually hear much from the other campers. They are either at the parks or are tired from being at the parks.

That's not to say you won't be the unlucky one and get some partiers next to you, but in my visits to the Fort I have found that you will encounter more families and older couples than at your typical campground, and if they are anything like me they will be in bed by 9:30!

Sometimes its kinda eerie quiet, the only time I had a problem was being next to a basketball hoop. The sound of a bouncing basketball at 7am was a little disturbing.

Last year we stayed in the 1200 loop near the four way intersection side of the loop in the day it was great but at night we would hear all the vehicals stopping and then reving the motors back up to start up again after about 1 or 2 am. it got quiet but until then it was bad so this year we requested the 1800 loop far side near the canal in hopes that it will be more quiet. K.:)

The 1200 loop is loud at the part where it backs up to the intersection. When we were there one time, Labor Day weekend I think, there was a triathlon that went through the campground and that intersection was a main thoroughfare for the race. In the early hours we kept hearing lots of cars and trucks, setting up cones and barricades and other things. That was a little annoying but then once the race started, we got a front row seat for the action, and that was cool. Other than that we haven't had any problems with noise or kids really (besides my own kids being annoying to me, but that is another story :)). Certainly nothing out of the ordinary or enough to make for an unpleasant stay. Enjoy!

The "human" noise is dependent upon the neighbors you are camping next to. It's a crap shoot. That being said - in the 35+ years I've camped at the Fort, I only recall one time we had extremely annoying neighbors, and that was last November. Even calls to the front desk didn't stop the shenanigans! Of course, the offending family pretended not to be able to speekie english. Yo sólo hablo español!

Deb, next time just yell "Callate cabron!!"

It's definitely not like the other resort were at all times of the night you can here people going up and down the hall way and slamming doors::headache: In all my years of going I have never had a problem with the noise.

Better yet--

Leave a cooler of cold beer by your site number and we'll be sure to crack 'em open quietly.

I would be less worried about the kids, and more worried whether or not there will be a Fort Fiend GG at the same time as your visit! :lmao:
Not mentioning any names, ahem, just saying. :rolleyes1

Thank you all for all of your quick and great replies.

Some of you are hilarious!! I love the humor!!

and don't forget all the outside vendors pressure washing the big rigs on Saturday and Sunday morning. I get stuck next to these a-holes I swear every single time we visit the fort...ugh
