Our desktop is over 9 years old. Hardly use it anymore. I don't remember how old dh's laptop is but I got a new one in August or September. DD got a netbook for Christmas.

My notebook is 2.5 years old and I think our desktop is pushing 3, which is very unusual for us, usually it's about ever 24 months for the notebook and 18 months for the desktop, but we really haven't had the need to upgrade as we are not struggling for performance at the moment (software really hasn't caught up to the fastest processors).

That said, my partner got an iPad for Christmas, so I guess that's a new computer in a way (well, really a big iPod Touch).

I just paid $350 to have my computer made like new. So I won't be getting another any time soon. The computer guy said mine was still a pretty good one.

My new desktop is 4 years old.

My old desktop, with all the financial software I like, software that is not available for Windows Vista, is 12 years old.

Wife's laptop is 3 years old.

Daughter's laptop is 2 years old.

Son's desktop is 6 years old

Son's Netbook is 2 years old.

My newest PC desktop is 2+ years old, which makes it ancient in gaming terms. But I have several laptops and a 1 year old iMac. I do have a computer that actually gets regular use that is about 8 years old.

DH and DS both got new laptops within the last year. Mine is 3 years old and going strong. I won't get a new one until there's a real reason to.

The desktop is 5 or 6 years old and rarely used. I'll never buy another desktop.

About a year and a half, I think. I had a laptop, but it stopped working so I took it in to be repaired and the guy told me it was the video card and he said it would be expensive to replace so he recommended I just get a new computer, from him of course. I let DS tear into it and he really didn't do anything but take out a few parts and put them back, and voila...it worked again for several months. It stopped working again, so I had him order me a good gaming desktop computer. I'd kind of like to take my laptop to a different repair place, to see what they say about it and if it could be fixed relatively cheap, but hate to pay the cost just to have it looked at.
