Just for fun....sparked by all the HP threads....I was wondering how long would you consider waiting for the new HP ride. Let's assume No FOTL access.

I know I want to get on this ride and I can't wait to explore this new land, so I would say that I would wait three hours.

I would not wait that long for the Hippogriff ride or the Dueling Dragons...and I haven't been on either before. I think I would wait 1 hour for those, but I hope FOTL access is on them.

Well.. hmm. I could probably wait 3 hrs if my phone would stream pandora for that long. May need to bring extra battery.

I hate lines and soon I am making first trip in a while w/o fotl so this may be interesting. After this trip the ability to wait 3 hrs for that ride may go away from me.

It is prob gonna be a cool ride but I am no HP fanatic and therefor I don't rly care to be one of the first to ride.

I don't wait over 45 minutes for anything...anywhere.

I guess it's different for me since I live here but I don't wait long at all.

For the first time? Probably a couple of hours.
I'm expecting a grand event for passholders which I will attend if at all possible. That would be the only time I would wait over an hour for it.

I never have to face this nightmare because I always stay on site, and probably won't be there until several months after opening, so the crowds should be same as anytime.

While I don't live down there I am with you Metro and I wouldn't wait over 45 mins and thats what is putting a kink in our vacation plans for next year cause we want to stay onsite and I don't see any discounts coming next year due to Harry Potter opening up

Idk about that...supposedly a huge HP following overseas and they are off school etc different times then us. So I would imagine this will draw in a lot of crowds at all times of the year. Then again won't know till it happens.

Yea I am hoping they don't screw us over like they did with HR3.
::yes::

But staying onsite isn't going to help cut through the crowds there...it's gonna be JAMMED for a long time after opening so staying onsite is only going to help you so much. But since you're going a few months down the road, hopefully it won't be as bad.

I wouldn't wait more than 15 to 20 for a glorified simulator. I was the same way with the Simpsons...didn't ride it till Express opened up. I very rarely make an exception to my 15 to 20 rule, even for a ride like Soarin' that I dearly love (and that, ironically, is really just a movie). I am breaking my rule this year for the Rockit, but that's because I am an airtime addict. God, I wish ShieKra (w/Quick Queue) were in Orlando...then I wouldn't need my Rockit fixes.

Honestly, with how amazing this ride could potentially be and with us flying all the way over from the UK, I would wait up to 4 hours for it. Life is too short to regret not sampling what I hope will be a spiderman beater (ie the most technologically advanced ride in the world..still!) :)
I couldn't not do it if we were there. I love Universal, and we are so excited to try this and Rip, Ride Rockit next year! :goodvibes

I find it interesting to read the different responses. When I asked my family I got.....

DH (not an HP fan and hates lines).......30 minutes maybe....followed up by "maybe we shouldn't go there if it's going to be so crowded" which I immediately ignored....which after 20 years of marriage...he most likely expected.

DD (not an HP fan, doesn't mind lines, loves thrill rides, age 19)......1 hour for the first time and if it was really awesome and over the top.....1 hour the second time too.

DS (not an HP fan, hates lines, loves thrill rides, age 15)...... "can't we get a Fast pass?" I really need to educate him more!

I'm the only die hard HP fan and I am most excited about this which is why I would wait up to three hours. We don't live close and go only about once per year so that might add to it too.

At a push I would wait no longer than 1 hour for any ride. And that would need to be for a super duper ride.

We could have stood in line for 2-3 hours this year for RRR, but no-way were we going to waste all that time in a queue. Will wait till next year :thumbsup2

We are not the biggest HP fans, DS was a few years ago, but still, we are so looking forward to this area opening up. With or without new rides it looks like it`s going to have a fantastic atmosphere about it. :)

We waited 2 hours in line once, that was for for the Mummy on the passholder's preview event. Never again, if we can't get in within an hour or less we'll come back some other time. Even someone who can't go several times a year like we can should think long and hard about missing out on the major part of your day so you can spend about 5 minutes on one ride.

Less than 2 hours I guess. We waited 80 minutes for Manta because our friends got us in for free and it was the main thing we wanted to see that day. It was worth it. DH and I do not like lines either. I will only wait in them if someone is visiting and we can't get a Fast Pass or something is new. We always get Express pass for HHN too:)

Early in the vacation or early in the morning, no more than 15 minutes. Later in vacation, maybe 45 minutes. But, of course, if the kids insist, I'll wait forever...standing in line at USF with my kids is better than any day at work.
