Does anyone know how long Tangled will be in Theaters? I tried calling a few theaters but I can't seem to get any real people on the phone! My husband promised my 7 year old he would take her tomorrow but he threw his back out. I can't take her because my husband can't stay with our 2 year old with his back being out. If my husband's back is better next weekend he will be working all weekend plus we have a wedding. So I was hoping Tangled would be around for a few more weeks. Does anyone know how to tell how long movies stay in theaters?

Thanks!

That depends on how they do at the box office. There's no way to predict that ahead of time but Tangled is certainly doing well.

I would say it depends on the theater in question with two key variables. The first being the size of the theater in terms of available screens (are new movies coming out that would replace older ones, this is especially an issue if your local theater is smaller and only has a few screens). The other factor would be the film's popularity at the theater in question, as some films do very well at some cinemas and not so well in others which could cause a film to stay longer at one and not so long at others. As long as you have a decent selection of theaters to choose from, I would think you would be fine.

Tangled did very well in the opening weekend, and it's a fair bet that a good family movie that appeals to multi-generations will/should stay in theatres through the Christmas holiday school break. Disney Daniel is right, though, a lot depends on your local theatre. My favorite local theatre has a bunch of screens, so they're usually able to hold a movie like this for a good run - but it will gradually move from the really-good stadiums down to the smaller, non-stadium screens, or might have limited showtimes, or be shown in only 3D or only 2D. If you have some theatres near you with lots of screens, however, I would expect Tangled to be playing at least through the end of the year.

We plan on seeing it the week before Christmas when the kids are off from school. If it isn't in the big theater it might be in a smaller cheaper theater that gets them last. I know one of our mall theaters still has Toy Story 3 playing, as they got it late and people still go see it there.
