How long to wait for plumber?

We are at BCV right now. The bathroom floor has remained really wet during our stay. At first I thought my kids were just being careless with the shower, but realized today that it’s actually the area behind the toilet leaking. I went down to the front desk to let them know and they sent a maintenance guy up within 20 minutes. He said that it actually seems like it’s the pipes/wall and so he was calling for a plumber instead, who should be up soon. It’s been about an hour and a half and I’m trying to decide how long to wait before going back to the front desk and asking when we should expect the plumber. I don’t want to be a pain, but we were planning on using this evening to relax and turning in early, as we want to wake up early for EMH at DHS tomorrow morning. We’ve never had an issue like this at WDW before, so don’t know what is a typical response time. How long do you think would be appropriate to give them so we don’t look like impatient jerks when I go ask about it?

Here are my thoughts..........
Plan A: tell them to take care of it tomorrow so your evening is salvaged (its "clean" water, correct?)
Plan B: see if you can change rooms now due to your schedule....you are on vacation!

I completely agree with this. Most repair persons give a four to six hour window for arrival, so they’re likely working off that. I would definitely either request to be moved or cancel the repair visit and reschedule it for tomorrow when you’re not in the room, assuming that it’s nothing that is jeopardizing your belongings or sleep.

I would go with Plan B but you should approach it as non-negotiable. They should move all your suit cases and things to the new room so you don't have to take time out of your vacation to move yourself. I would be very pleasant but firm and would be willing to escalate if the front desk person is not able to help. Good Luck!!!

One more thought............if this thing tonight keeps you up late, it would be reasonable to request some FastPasses since you may not be able to get your group to the park as early as you originally thought.

BCV is a DVC Villa. It is designed to run at 90%-95% occupancy, and it does. It is highly unlikely that there is a Villa to move OP to.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I went down to the desk and asked about it. They got someone up here immediately to fix it and gave my kids arcade cards to use while the room was being serviced. I figured moving rooms was an unlikely possibility because it’s DVC. Thankfully it’s done now. Of course, we are still waiting on one more step, as the repair guy said he was sending up housekeeping to clean up and replace the towels that were used to sop up the water. He said he would expedite the request. We’ll see what happens. I just want to put pajamas on and be done for the night.

Curious why you had to be there when the plumber got there. I'd think Disney would have someone from housekeeping or something in there with the plumber and there should be no need for you to stay in the room and ruin your day.

We definitely didn’t have to be in there, but we wanted to be in there. We had planned to spend this evening relaxing in the room. It’s finally finished now, as housekeeping just left.

Gotcha. Just making sure. :)
