How long to wait before charging remaining balance?

Hey there! My fiance and I are getting married in 80 days (10/26) and Disney-mooning in 81 (10/27). We have the Chase Disney Premier Visa Card and obviously want to earn Disney rewards dollars for the trip. We've already received some gifts from our Disney Honeymoon Wishes registry, but don't plan on getting the remainder of the funds until after the wedding (which pays for the majority of the trip). The due date for our trip balance is September 27th.

What date do you recommend throwing the balance onto our Disney Premier Visa Card, in order to have the points post to our account, and be able to request the rewards card in time? Our account's statement periods end on the 20th of each month. Should I do it before August 20th to ensure proper timing of everything?

Also - I requested a rewards card of just $100 to see how long it would take to come in. Now that I have the card, will I be able to transfer balances to that card without having to wait for a new one?

What is your statement date of your card? You won't get the points until that statement closes, so if your "month" normally ends on the 15th, then you will need to make the payment prior to Sept 15th for the points to be applied and give you time to cash them in.

IME, once you have a rewards card, you can pretty much instantaneously tranfer whatever rewards you have to that card

Unfortunately we aren't, we thought we'd receive more funds beforehand, but we're now likely to receive most of the funds at the wedding/afterwards. We only have about 1/5 already paid for.

Okay, that's great to know! So as long as I charge in early September, I should be able to transfer the points before our trip Oct 27th?

Our statement date is the 20th of the month.

With a statement date of the 20th each month (mine is too), you could technically wait until early/mid-October and still get the points credited in time. But it sounds like you have a package which needs to be PIF 30 days in advance, so you have until that PIF date in September. The points will credit to your account on your next statement date. (If you PIF on 9/26, it will appear on your October 20th statement.) Since you already have a Rewards Redemption Card, you can transfer points electronically and it's immediate. You'll have a week after your 10/20 statement date and your trip, or it can even be done by phone once you arrive at WDW.
