Hubby and I are planning on going to HH in Oct. We have never been how long do most stay? 5 days -7 days? We plan on doing both points and cash.

My brother goes every year for at least a week and sometimes more. It is very relaxing and great if you like golf!

DVC HHI is a great resort as is the Hilton Head area. If you have the time, plan a day trip to Savannah, GA and Charleston SC. Enjoy your trip.:cool1::banana:

The longest we've been was 8 nights and we could have stayed longer. For DH, he LOVES golf, so that's a no-brainer. But for me, I could sit on the balcony and read for days on end. In the summertime, it depends on how much beach-time you like. Different people have different levels of tolerance/enjoyment of pure relaxation.
Recently, we had a 7 nite stay, and that seemed perfect (any nights at HHI seem perfect to me).

we are also planning a 4 night trip to HHI in October 2011 and will be planning to see Savannah and Charleston SC...

I have only been there once for two nights and it was not enough. I think at least 4 nights would do.

Went to HH last spring. We stayed 6 nights and it was not enough. Although some of the reason might have been because we were with our 4 kids. There were so many things for them to do it was incredible. Going back this spring and are staying for 7 nights (that is all we can afford) and I am sure we will not want to leave at the end of the trip!

I could check in Memorial Day and check out Labor Day. Wonder how many points that would be??? LOL

But in real life - we stay 6 or 7 nights.

October is a transitional month. It could be cold or warm during your stay. We've stayed only in the summer months. If you want the beach to be a big part of your stay you might want to go shorter on the days. If you are not bothered by cooler weather then maybe a longer stay is in order.

We almost always stay five nights at DVC. We always have felt the sadness of the last day at HHI. I don't know if that sadness would be the same if we stayed for a few more days. Probably so.

So, look at the probable temps and decide what length of stay it is within your comfort range. Good Luck!

We've only been during the summer for about 7 or 8 nights. Next year we're planning on 13 nights but that includes a week in Sea Pines. I could stay there a month!

Hilton Head is one of our favorite destinations. October is a great time to go. The weather is usually warm. We stay at least a week, and sometimes longer.

We have a HHI timeshare and we find a week is just barely enough. It is a great island especially if you golf.

DH and I were there in Oct for two nites, and wished we could have stayed longer. We loved it. I think this October we will be going back for a longer stay. We found it to be so relaxing. It was warm when we were there about 83 to 86. Perfect weather.

We stayed for a week in July and it was no where near long enough! We loved it! Are going back in April 2011 for 11 nights.............can't wait!

Will we get to meet you? Are you there for Easter? If so, there'll be an Easter Brunch at the Beach house-as well as the final day of the PGA Heritage Golf Classic. I checked when we were at HHI last month-I don't know the times yet, though. DH has a BIG choice to make!

We check out on 19th April 2011, just before Easter! Hubby is going to the first practice day of the golf before we go!! When do you arrive?!

Ah, too bad we'll miss you. We don't arrive until Good Friday, the 22nd. We almost cancelled our trip, thinking it would be too crowded with the PGA tournament (we thought it was cancelled when they lost their sponsor). But now we're really excited about going. And hopefully by Monday and Tuesday, DH can get some golfing in himself.
