how long to stay at HH?

We stayed 6 nights in October and would've loved to have stayed longer. DH, I and DS6 & DS2 LOVED it. Most relaxing vacation we've had. Will definitely be heading back to HHI again.

What a shame....by 22nd April we will be back in 'sunny' England!! ha! ha!
Hubby is playing Harbour Town the week before the tournament (very excited!!) and then just attending the practice day on the Monday before we fly home.

Have you ever been to HHI at that time of year before? We have only been once in July which was amazing....but VERY hot!! ha! ha! We had such a relaxing time and hope that it will be warm enough to swim in April! Have an amazing trip!!!

Hubby and I are planning on going to HH in Oct. We have never been how long do most stay? 5 days -7 days? We plan on doing both points and cash.

If you've never been, depending upon what you & DH want to do (or not do) then 4 or 5 days could be plenty. If you want to venture about a bit going off island ( fishing, day trip to Savannah, Daufuskie Island, Beaufort ) then additional days would be good idea.

HH is a great resort. The island is great too. I have done several 5 night trips and that was a perfect amount of time. I think another night would have been too much. Enjoy.

As long as you have a car a week will be great - you can do some day trips to Savannah, Charleston and Beauford. Bike riding that time of year is awesome.
October in the Carolinas is a treat.

The longest we have stayed is 7 nights and it was HARD to leave!! LOVE HHI!!! We started our first stay with 5 nights and quickly realized we needed more nights, now we always stay a week - just so relaxing, but still soooooo much to do!!

We are pondering our vacation at the beginning of the summer and would LOVE to do HH. I so want to do the stops in-between on our way from Houston (we've driven to WDW 3 or 4 times, no biggie).

All these posts were made discussing the time for couples w/out kids (it appears). But we would have our son with us. This is the first year that we could take a decently long vacation, so doing HH is very appealing to us.

What thoughts do y'all have? Thanks a bunch!!

Is there any chance he could bring a friend with him? There is so much for kids at HHI - Campfires, Kids night out (movies and pizza), t-shirt decorating, ice cream parties at the pool, magic shows, ghost stories, painting... All three of my kids love HHI more than WDW.

How many days would you say for the 2 of us who don't have any interest in golf (except for the miniature kind) and would consider maybe 2 day trips to nearby locations?

we are also planning a 4 night trip to HHI in October 2011 and will be planning to see Savannah and Charleston SC...

A few people say to see Charleston..........is there a link or certain things you like to see there? Debating driving from Southern Ontario or flying into Charleston and seeing the sites there for a day before driving into HH.
