We have dinner reservations at O'hana for 7:20, on Friday 7/2. :cool1: We haven't been since 2006 and it was just DH and I. This time its me, DH and the six kids. I was hoping the kids might see the fireworks from the restaurant but couldn't remember how long the meal would take. Fireworks are at 9... How long of a wait for our table to be ready? How long do you think it would take for the meal? What do you think our chances of getting a table near the windows with eight of us?

my advice would be to skip trying to see them from the table and get a 6:30/7pm ADR and watch the fireworks from the beach or dock after your meal... with a party your size, i wouldn't chance it...

With a group that size your chances of getting a table request are slim. Most TS meals take about 75-90 minutes sometime ever longer. Ohana has a rep of leaving people waiting after their ADR time to be seated. So factor in another 15 minutes or so.

I agree with the PP about going down to the beach to see Wishes.

I just looked at the date in your post.....you will be there July 2nd????? It will be totally packed going into the holiday weekend. The chances of you changing your ADR now are not that great. You can always try and you never know what will open up. With that in mind I would try for an earlier ADR and if I couldn't get one I would keep what I had but arrive at Ohana early to check in. I think I would arrive about 30-40 minutes early. Chances are you would still have to wait until the ADR time but you can relax with a drink from the bar and let the kids explore the gift shop or pin cart.

At that time of night and the holiday time....you can count on a very slow dinner. Hopefully you will be seated promptly, but my experiences is that is where that will end.
Ohana is the slowest meal we ever have (and ours are usually 45 to an hour) but Ohana can take 2 hours.

It is cool IF you get to sit by the window, but you may not. Do you get another chance to see Wishes? If so, stay put and just listen to the music they pipe in.

Wow...we also have reservations July 2nd.....:cool1: I was also wondering about the timing. We are a party of 7 at 6:35....we have never been, but I'm dying to try the Lapu Lapu ;)

lapu lapu is one yummy drink!!! and if chance allows, a trip thru space mountain shortly after consuming one is absolutely amazing! LOL!

i agree w/the pp that sugg'd you arrive earlier for your ADR... since an ADR is different than a reservation, you will be logged in when you arrive, so you very well may be seated sooner than your original ADR time... it's your best bet for seeing the fireworks from the poly (beach) :)

You will most likely still be seated in the restaurant during the 9 o'clock fireworks. Make sure you request a window table when you check in and your wait will be a little longer. That is OK b/c you want to draw out your meal as long as possible. If, for some unlikely reason, your meal goes very quickly and you finish before 9, run downstairs and out back to the beach area and watch from there. It is a lovely experience to watch fireworks from the Poly beach.
