I just cashed out for 25. webcert at Mypoints. How long does it usually take to get this in your email & how can I use it to pay off my room at DW? My room has to be paid in full by 9/19, so I'm wondering if I'll get it in time? If not, what else can I use it for? Can I overpay my room? Thanks!

My rebate came thru within a week. I bought a gift card thru the Disney catalog on line & then took it to the Disney Store & bought Disney Dollars with it. I would say the whole process took about 2 weeks.

MyPoints seems to fulfill these once a month, in batches. So there's no way to really tell when it will come.

If you do get it in time, once you redeem it and set up your webcertificate account (if you don't already have one), you'll get an account number that is equal to a MasterCard number essentially. I believe you just call up Disney, give them the number, and apply it to your room. I've never tried this (because we now stay with my bro's DVC points), but others have. I don't know if you can overpay, but I seem to remember someone did and then used it for charges charged back to the room. You could always check with Disney on that.

I'm still vary new at mypoints. I just reached 1500 and I'm debating on cashing in or wait for something bigger. Christmas is coming (sad but true) and a little here and there will assist in shopping for gifts.
I just want to clarify what Eilonwy stated above...Say I've made my deposit for my hotel stay; all I need to do is use the webcertificate that is emailed to me, call WDW (or wherever I'm vacationing) and give them the "mastercard" acount number and amount of payment? That is a pretty nifty way to pay it off.

That is what I heard (regarding adding to your deposit).

Personally, with MyPoints, I like to wait until I reach the higher point levels. The "average" redemption is 140 pts / $. Meaning 1400 points gets you a $10 GC. If you can hold out, 3500 points gets you the $25 webbie (still 140 pts--the $10 webbie is 150 pts / $). But if it's useful to you, a Rainforest GC is only 130 pts / $ or a Barnes & Noble GC is one of the best at 110 pts / $ (and you only need 2750 for a $25 B&N GC). If you want to cashout now, try looking at some of the other $10 GC that are less than 1400 pts -- need to do any of that holiday shopping at B&N? 1250 pts gets you a $10 card. But remember, you can only use the B&N cards at the store and not online (I don't think that's changed.)

Yes, I created a speadsheet with all of this stuff in it. I'm holding off until I can get two $25 webbies. We're not planning a trip to RFC this time, or I'd cash out for those. I've got just over 6000 right now. I suppose if I'd get around to writing them about some other points I never got, I'd have enough to cashout.

These are just my opinions, of course.

You can use the gift card online. There is a place where you type in the code and scratch off on the card for a pin and type that in. I always do that.
