How long to eat?

It is not quite time for me to make my ADRs yet, but it is approaching, & being the neurotic planner that I am--I'm trying to balance between budget, food, atmosphere, and fun (outside of eating )

So, how much time does it take you to eat? How much time are you willing to dedicate to it? 2 very different questions, I know.

We've done character buffets before, so I know how long that will take--1 hour at least (we're there at a somewhat uncrowded time in January).

How long will it take us to eat at say Tony's in the MK for dinner--if we go early? We would be going to MK just for dinner & soak up some atmosphere, maybe hit a ride & watch Wishes that day.

How about 50s PT? It has been a couple of years since we ate there.

I'm willing to dedicate more time to a meal if it includes an experience like a character meal, or 50s PT, but I don't want to blow a couple of hours just to eat, KWIM?

The problem with the TS's at the Parks is they don't seat you right away.

You have a ressie and you wait for 30 minutes or longer. This happened to us at both Prime Time and Hollywood and Vine. The whole time you are waiting you feel like you are wasting valuable park time.

I sent the kids off and they continued to enjoy...me not so much

Mealtime at PT was probably abit more than a hour including dessert.

For me, it depends on the restaurant and the time of day I have my ADR. Typically, it takes me about 1/2 hour to one hour to dine at a table service restaurant. A little longer if I'm not in a major rush to get somewhere. I also think it depends on what I am ordering. Where I'm doing the dining plan this year, probably more on the hour side.

As far as 50's, it's one of my favorite & must-dines at WDW!! Have had great food and service there on every visit.

I like the idea if sending the kids off while I or DD wait for an ADR. They can use that time and I or DD can rest Will kind of take the frustration out of waiting.

At table service places inside the park, it usually takes from 45 to 75 minutes. At resorts it is generally from 50 to 90 minutes to eat. All of this seems to depend on how busy they are and what the server is like.

It seems to me for a sit down restaurant, you should allow 45 minutes to an hour....although it depends on many different variables...are you seated on time, how crowded the restaurant is and how fast they are turning over the tables and getting the food out.
