We are planning one day at disney in November just to take advantage of the wine and food festival. My husband is a chef and is very excited, after sampling someof the food I would like to be able to take the kids to MGM for the afternoon parade and some of the shows. How long should I plan for.

I suppose it could be done in one day, but IMO it would be difficult. For one thing, the kiosks don't open until 11, so it would be almost impossible to eat your way around and still make it to the afternoon parade at MGM. Perhaps you could start at Epcot , then go over to MGM via the boat from Boardwalk, watch the parade and then head back to do a few more hours of the Wine and Food Fest.
You would probably be ready for a break from sampling after awhile anyway and after leaving for a couple of hours would be ready to eat again.
Since your husbands a chef, I'm sure he'll really enjoy the experience.:bounce:

I would agree with SamSam...the best thing would be to start at Epcot, take a break for the parade, and then head back for more.

There is so much food to taste during the festival that it would be pretty hard to do it all in one pass (you'd be full halfway through!).

Make it your lunch and dinner, and I'd say that everyone will be satisfied. Either way, hope you enjoy!

Two days if you want to be completely stuffed. Three days if not. :)

Another thing....most of the "shows" at MGM don't run at night....except for the biggie, Fantasmic! If it were me, I'd get to MGM early (opening), see the shows & the parade, then boat to Epcot & do the F & W Fest the rest of the day.....or until time for Fantasmic at MGM.

We went last year for the first time. The evening was open, so we took our DS, 21 months, one night to see what it was all about. We all had a great time, but we only made it half way around, didn't stop at all the stalls and were really stuffed.

We scheduled another vacation in November, partly so we could do it again this year. We like dinner, rather than lunch, because of the little guy. At lunch he's getting tired and just wants to grab and go. At dinner, after a nap in the room, he's well rested and ready to go for an adventure. He's also in a better mood to try a bunch of new food.

You'll love it not matter when you go. I wouldn't miss it if I had the chance. Have Fun.:teeth:

DH and I ate our way around the world at the Food and Wine Fest last year. It took us a long time! We started at about 3 pm, and snacked throughout the afternoon and evening. We didn't eat continuously, we visited the pavilions and saw the sites, as well. We didn't go to all the booths - we were selective and only choose ones we thought we would like. We don't eat beef, pork, lamb, etc., so that ruled a lot out. We do eat poultry and seafood, so we did have a lot of options!

If you want to eat all the options, you will have trouble doing that in one meal, but if you pick and choose, you can probably do it in a few hours.

Thanks everyone, I think we will be fine, we do alot of food and wine festivals. We have a rule that we never eat more then 3 bites of any 1 food. Dh believes after the third bite your taste buds are saturated and time to try something new. Of course i break this rule when it comes to desserts but i don't see a chocolate booth on the list this year so I think I should be okay ;). I think we will take a break for the parade at MGM it was pouring rain in June when we there so we missed it and then head back to Epcot. Unfortunatley we are in Flordia for a wedding and only have one day to spare for WDW.

The list of the participating countries is on Deb's site http://www.wdwig.com/

Go all the way down the page to special events and click on food and wine festival 2002. In there she has information on the signature dinners, wine tasting and a list of all the countries participating, though no details about what they are preparing.
