How long to do Fantasyland?

On a fairly low-crowd day, arriving first thing in the morning and heading straight back to Fantasyland? Hitting every ride except for Snow White...

I thought I had the hard part out of the way picking a resort. This planning is making my head spin.

Let me note that I am asking because I'm playing around with several different touring approaches. (I'm not a big fan of touring plans. They just don't click with our family temperament.) Because of our interests, it might behoove us to do our MK days by focusing on two or three lands at a time.

But I'd like a rough estimate on how long it would take to do Fantasyland (sans Snow White) on a low crowd day, hitting the park well enough before opening to crack the gates, and using Fastpasses when needed.

Thanks

Shel

Get your FP for Pooh - then get in line for dumbo. After dumbo go to Snow White, then Peter Pan, then use FP for Pooh. After Pooh see if Philharmanic is starting - if not go to the Tea cups. Check for starting time for Phil and either wait for start or go to Its a Small World. Each morning we were there last week we used this strategy and were able to do Fantasy land before lunch at 11:15. Lines start to fill up at 10 and if you can get Dumbo first without a wait then you take out the most time. Dumbo has to empty the ride which has 2 per elephant.

The hard part is how much to spend in the Pooh playground and Toonville...

You could concievably do Fantasyland in an hour if it's a slow day and you are there at opening. I'd do Pan first, then IASW, then Pooh, then circle back to Philharmagic.

N.E.D.

PS - What's this prejudice against our fair Snow White? ;)

LOL, DD4 is positively mortified by the witch. And she says that Snow White's voice is annoying and freaks her out because she sounds like a little girl, but she gets married.

we do this all the time with our 3 little ones. we can do all of fantasyland within 1- 1.5 hours. we get to the mk gates by 8:30 then when the rope drops we make a beeline for pooh to get a fast pass, then go on dumbo, peter pan, small world, cindy's carousel, by that time it is usually time for pooh, then we go to see philharmagic. my kids feel the same way about snow white so we don't ride that one either. we might look stupid practically running to each attraction but we hardly ever have to wait in a line more than 5 minutes, and trust me those lines can build up really quickly.

I'd say you could do it in an hour to 1 1/2 depending on if you do everything or just 4-5 attractions. If possible go for an early EMH, if not go very first thing. Make sure to do Dumbo and Winnie first. Early on a slow day (or EMH) they typically will not have FP machine working. Small World and PhilharMagic can accommodate a large number of people so do those last.

Even in January, the peter pan ride has a line!! Its just as bad as dumbo!! I would get a FP for Pooh, hit Dumbo and Peter Pan first. The rest will have less of a wait, if any wait.

WendyMichaelJohn- when are you going??

Mickey's Philarmagic also has FP. I believe Allearsnet has a list of all fast pass areas. Pooh and Buzz was definately worth the fast pass in MK - Soarin, TT, and Mission Space in Epcot. Space Mountain and Big Thunder we also used FP for

The key to doing Fantasyland quickly is to ride Dumbo first, as quickly after opening as possible. While other rides (such as Pooh and Peter Pan) may have longer lines, Dumbo is by far the slowest moving line in Fantasyland. If you delay getting in line for Dumbo, you will end up waiting a long time even if the line is relatively short.

If possible, bring your little ones to Dumbo immediately upon arriving, and allow another adult to get FPs for Pooh while you are on line. The distance between Dumbo and Pooh is short enough that the adult getting FPs should arrive at Dumbo approximately 1 minute after you do. Having said that, if you are going on a low-crowd day, you shouldn't really even need the FPs for Pooh. Have fun!

Allears.com says that Philharmagic, Winnie and Peter Pan have FP. Remember though if it is slow and in the AM, could be that FP machines aren't working yet. Good Luck.

Peter Pan also has Fast Pass.

EDIT - Sorry, didn't see that previous post.

p.s. (warning: shameless junk/snack food pitch immediately following):

While in Fantasyland go into Pinocchio Village Haus and get some Figaro Fries. They rock!

I'll remember Peter pan the next time - didn't actually see the FP machines for it. Didn't need it this time - longest wait we had was 5 minutes - most of the times it was a walk on. Pooh on the other hand backed up. Dumbo needs one.

Hey frndofpooh!! Guess I'll see you there! We're leaving in 7 days! Whoopeee!!!! :dancer:
