This has probably been asked a million times, but I'm hoping someone can give me a quick, approximate answer.

How long does it take to close once DVC has your signed papers (no financing)?

The papers did have an approximate date--I think it was mid June--but we sent our papers in way before the required date. I don't know if that has any effect.

TIA. :)

It should be very quick. We too did not use financing. We signed for another SSR add-on on May 18th this year and on May 21st (when I got home) I noticed that the new points were available for me to use when I logged into DVC's website.

Thanks DV.

We are playing with the idea of going a couple of nights in a few weeks. But if I read my contract right, I think you can book even before you close.

Well, we have to see what we can do about flights first. :)

You're welcome. We haven't closed yet either, as we have the final payment coming off cc on June 2nd. However, I suspect that any bookings you make would have to occur after closing (as then DVC can cancel reservations for delinquent accounts).

Okay, here is the part of the contract (excuse typos as I'm typing fast lol)

In the event purchaser fails to close or otherwise defaults or breaches any term or condition of any of te resort documents or this agreement, any stays reserved under the program shall be forfeited and purchaser shall no longer be entitled to serve accommodations contemplated by this agreement. in the event that the foregoing occurs after purchaser has made a reservation for acommondation, such reservation shall be immediately cancelled, and purchase shall have no right to use the accom. Further, in the even purchaser cancels the contract prior to closing BUT AFTER PURCHASER HAS USED ACCOMMONDATIONS pursuant to this agreement, purchaser shall be obligated to remit to DVD a dollar amount equal to the value of use of the accomm, yada yada yada.

And then when I look at the paragraph about using the developer points, it just says they have to be used one year from teh contract date, i.e. May 15, 2009.

My husband just walked in the door and said maybe we want to stay at AKL and pay cash and save the developer points for February. He mentions this after I type all this out.

No I think it would be good to stay SSR Thursday night and then move to AKL on Friday and pay cash.

:confused3 I'm confused.
