how long to add points?

I have passed ROFR and am now waiting to close on my DVC purchase. How long until can you start the process of adding points?

You have to wait till you get your contract #.

You get that after closing.

No problem. When I was new I had lots of terminolgy questions too. ROFR is right of first refusal. This only applies if you are going to buy DVC from resale. What happens is that you make your offer to buy resale and then the offer gets sent to Disney. They have the frist choice of whether to let you buy the points or Disney can can say no to you and stop the sale by buying them back themselves. So when you buy resale you need to pass ROFR so that you can actually get the points you are buying. Hope that makes sense.

To add, I would find out who is going to be your guide. Even when buying resale you are assigned a guide. If you want to add on right away. Let your guide know what you want and are going to do. That way, he/she can start the process as soon as you are ready.
