Hey, I've been lurking on this thread because we're in the process (waiting on ROFR) on a resale for the Boardwalk. After we were members, I planned to go on the waitlist for just a few (25-50) points at BCV.

Looking at this list, is this a decent plan? It looks like I may wait a long, long time for those points! But paying closing on such a small amount really raises the price, and you never find contracts that small resale anyway. Anyone out there who's gotten BCV know how long it took? We'll have a June UY if it makes any difference.

Let me first wish you good luck passing ROFR on the Boardwalk resale. Here is the ongoing "resale" thread..so you can get an idea of whats going on:

Everyone has different thoughts and requirements, as you can see, for either adding on or looking for a resale.

This is my 1st attempt to add on to my existing BC contract and thru Disney, so there are no fees attached..but, yes..I would be paying Disney prices..now $89. per point..

In my case.. the 100 additional points fits my plans! They would be my UY and ressies can be made with the full allocation of points. If I ever chose to sell...(think not)..they would be treated as 2 seperate contracts, my original and the add on, which is better than selling a huge point contract, that many can't afford in one shot.

Now...IMHO...I would NOT look for a small add on @ another resort, but look to add on to my home resort. I couldn't do much with a 25-50 point contract @ another resort @ the 11th month window....then need to wait till the 7th month window to (maybe, if available)..finish my ressies.

Yeah, that's a good call. We were just trying to make sure we could spend a night here or there at BCV so my kids could enjoy SAB - we assumed we'd probably have to move back to the BWV. Which is kind of a bummer, now isn't it? Would I be able to assume that I could occassionally get some nights at BCV at the 7 month window? I'm just afraid that after SSR sells out it will be almost impossible to get in at the smaller resorts - that's why we bought BWV in the first place. But it would be convenient to have them all in one spot.

It depends when you want to stay there, jnrrt. I've never had trouble getting into different resorts. We own most of our points at BWV and haven't been back there since our initial trip. If you are going to consistently stay at the busiest times, though, it might be a different story.

Yeah, thanks. Maybe I won't worry about it, then. We often go at less busy times of the year and we love the BWV, so it really would not be the end of the world if we "had" to stay there - we plan on being there a lot! Just wanted to do BCV sometimes.

Like you, I don't know how getting in to the BC will be after SSR is sold out.

Does seem like lots of people doesn't it??

What I can tell you is..other than the winter season, first, I try to go in May and or Sept to utilize the pool..ie SAB.

I had a week ressies for May 04 @ the BC. Last March...I called MS and wanted a few extra days @ the BC...and GOT them!! Yep..2 months notice!!So..no..I dont think its difficult to get (right now)..guess its all in the timing??

Also...I downloaded Caskbill's Planner, which is a wonderful tool (for me), gives you the pts. needed, diff resorts..etc. and after you pick your vacation time, it gives you the exact date to start calling for 11th and 7th month window! He's working on the next version to customize and track your personalized points.

You can now add us to the add-on list. Just spoke to my guide (3/4/05) and we are on for 50 more points at BCV with a Dec UY. He mentioned that it could be months, or it could be shorter. He said that Disney has been buying all the resales up - annoying the resellers. he also mentioned that the points for the cruise should be dropping next year (6% I think he said) - because it has to do with them paying DCL cash, and getting more $$$$ for rentals at DVC. He said it ebbs and flows.

Earlier this week I viewed a thread where someone had knowledge of an important (mandatory) DVC meeting this week. It was suggested that the add on wait list prices were going to go up April 1st.

I spoke to my guide yesterday, looking for some insight (and sympathy..I guess), he attended a meeting this week..and said that .. NO..prices weren't going up April 1st for the wait list...but...will be going up sometime in the summer.

Hopefully, those of us waiting on the list now...will be on the list by then?

Hi guys,
I've decided we "need" 75-100 more points at BCV (we have March use year). I told DH last night and he said okay, figure out how to pay for it. What are my options? We bought at BCV during construction and financed it for one year with Disney. What are they doing now? I'll probably call our guide, whom I haven't spoken with since we closed, this afternoon.
